Postimpressionismus
Postimpressionismus[1] est motus artis plerumque Francicus qui inter 1886 et 1905 fere floruit, ab ultimo exhibitione impressionistica ad Fauvismum natum. Qui motus se gerebat adversus naturalisticam lucis colorumque tractationem quibus Impressionistae faverant. Postimpressionismus, quia proprietates abstractas resque contentas symbolicas late attingebat, neoimpressionismum, symbolismum, Cloisonnismum, Scholam Pont-Aven, et synthetismum amplectitur, cum operibus nonnullorum impressionistarum. Duces motus erant Paulus Cézanne (pater postimpressionismi appellatus), Paulus Gauguin, Vincentius van Gogh, Georgius Seurat.
Vocabulum primum adhibitum est a Rogerio Fry, pictore et critico Anglico, anno 1906, Anglice Post-Impressionism scribente.[2][3] Franciscus Rutter, diurnarius et criticus Anglicus, in recognitione exhibitionis Salon d'Automne in Art News die 15 Octobris 1910 divulgata, Othon Friesz "ducem postimpressionisticum"[4] appellavit; eodem tempore etiam erat praeconium exhibitionis The Post-Impressionists of France.[5]
Postimpressionistae impressionismum extenderunt dum eius circumscriptiones reiciebant: coloribus autem vividis, adhibitionibus pigmentorum saepe crassorum, rebusque vitae verae iam utebantur, sed formas geometricas malle, formam ad effectum expressivum distorquere, coloresque non naturales vel adeo libidinosos adhibere magis solebant.
