Welcome To Lakeport Main Street Association
Rich in history dating back over a hundred years, the City of Lakeport lies on the shore of Clear Lake, the largest natural lake in California and the oldest natural lake in the United States! It is also one of the premier bass fishing waters in the country. Located two and a half hours north of San Francisco and two hours northwest of Sacramento, the area lays claim to the cleanest air quality in the state and is home to award winning vineyards and wineries not to mention an extinct volcano, Mt. Konocti. As the oldest incorporated community in the county, and the county seat, the city is also the regional center of commerce and government with a bustling daytime population of over 30,000. Lakeport, with its small town charm, has a population of just under 5,000 and is known for its beautifully restored historic downtown, inviting lakeside park, quiet residential neighborhoods and friendly people. Free public boat ramps, water sports equipment rentals, and a lively mix of restaurants, shops, B&Bs and vacation home rentals make the town an ideal place to visit.
