Please forward the professor’s clear written permission for access to the Media Center at [email protected] including the course number and section number (e.g. 9999-10 Web Portal Law) and date(s).
The course number and section number is how we search and find the correct class; please ensure you give us an accurate course number and section number.
Note: We do not accept an email with the professor just CC'd as permission. We require their clear written permission.
*Special circumstance*: If your class has more than one instructor and they have differing recording policies, the more restrictive policy between instructors is taken. For example, if one professor is record all, release all and one is no record, no release, the class is then under a no record, no release policy.
Note: If the class was held via Zoom, the professor needs to inform us via email to make it accessible to the class, even if it is a release all class. Zoom recordings do not have an automatic release mechanism like traditional automated classroom recordings. In this case, please contact the professor first.
Recordings can take about 2-4 hours to process depending on how many classes and recordings are ending around the same time.
Please contact the Dean of Students Office directly ([email protected]), as they process these types of requests. There is no need to include or CC the Media Center in the email.
No, this is not allowed.
The system does not send any automated notifications when a recording is released to a user.
If you sent in the ticket, we will respond to your ticket to let you know that you have access and how to access. If the professor sends the ticket on a student's behalf, the professor will be informed when access is given and should then let the student know.
You retain access to recordings “through the 7th week of the semester following the semester in which the recordings are made”, according to the class recording policy.
Recordings are archived after the 7th week of the following semester and are no longer available.
