Liquipedia:Notability Guidelines

Please note that inclusion of pages in mainspace is ultimately up to the discretion of the Liquipedia administrators.
Sadly, not everything can be added to the wiki. We want all our pages to be as up-to-date as possible and to meet our quality standards in general. That is made harder the more pages are created, not to mention additional factors, such as the fact that lower ranked teams tend to not have social media where they announce transfers, and so on.
Now, these are not non-negotiable. This wiki contains coverage of certain teams, players and scenes that do not actually meet our guidelines, however they are considered to be of special importance to their local scene or to Age of Empires history as a whole. Any pages that do not meet these guidelines will not be deleted, but will be moved to your user space.

These guidelines were constructed through an iterative process, with input from active editors and community voices who joined the discord to give their opinion. Feedback is always welcomed in the above mentioned discord.
Players[edit]

Players may receive their individual pages, as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. Check the bullet points below. If your chosen player fits at least one of these, then they are likely notable to warrant a page on this wiki.
- Achievements: If the player has achieved notable results, check the Notability Checker to see a player's notability.
- Do note that the notability checker is a tool to help find out a calculated relevance of a player, the inclusion of pages in mainspace is ultimately up to the discretion of the Liquipedia administrators. Especially results barely meeting the set thresholds or using recently added, non-confirmed tournaments should be taken with a grain of salt.
- Previous history: If the player was a pro-gamer in another game (Warcraft III, StarCraft: Brood War, StarCraft 2, ...) and has a page in the other game's Liquipedia. The player should have a minimum amount of notability points on this wiki (~800, exact value is up to discussion in the Discord.).
- Sponsored: If the player is a notable member of a well-established esport organisation.
For players with non-romanized aliases (Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc) please make sure to create their page with the romanized version of their alias. In the case of their personal names, the player infobox supports both a romanized and non-romanized version.
Teams[edit]
Teams may receive their individual pages, as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. Check the bullet points below. If your chosen team passes the following criteria, then they are likely notable to warrant a page on this wiki.
- At least 1 notable player
- At least 2 total players
- An official public channel of communication (twitter, facebook, vk, instagram, etc) to track their transfers. (not just a single person)
- At least 5000 total notability points.
Tournaments[edit]

Tournaments with a cash prize of at least $50 USD (except Show Matches, where the requirement is $100 USD) should be added right away for documentary purposes. They are required to have a verifiable public source for results. Sources such as a website, a social media page or other third party platforms, need to provide such material and be kept up to date. In all mentions of prize pool values, only fiat currencies are taken into account. Any non-monetary prizes like hardware or prizes paid in crypto currencies can be listed on pages, but won't be looked at when assigning a tier. For the latter, there can be an exception made if there is the option of payout in a fiat currency with a guaranteed payout.
Tiers guidelines[edit]
Each game has its own set of guidelines for which tier each tournament qualifies. S-Tier, A-Tier, B-Tier, and C-Tier include the tiers of most tournaments covered on this wiki. Each game has a typical prize pool for each of their tiers.

The following table details the influencing factors beyond the prize pool taken into acccount when determining tiering for events. It is worth noting that events featuring highly uncompetitive settings, custom scenarios, or charity events will also receive the tier Miscellaneous (Misc).

Keep in mind that events with no prize pool and/or that limit the skill of their participants (for example, by rejecting players with ELOs above a certain level) are deemed not notable under these guidelines.
Broadcast Talent[edit]
Broadcast talent is defined as any member of a production of a stream or video related to a notable tournament. Casters, Hosts, Observers, Directors, etc.
Any of the following criteria must be true for a Broadcast Talent to be deemed notable. Worth noting that this is a work in progress list of criteria and may be subject to change in the future.
- Participated in an A-Tier or greater event as part of the main broadcast team.
- Participated in at least 3 B-Tier events as part of the main broadcast team.
- Participated in at least 10 events, regardless of tier, and is a Twitch, Youtube, or Facebook Gaming partner.
- Participated in at least 10 events, regardless of tier, and is able to prove consistent 50+ viewership for those events.
Map Creators & Scripters[edit]
A map creator and/or scripter is defined as the individual or group that creates custom maps or random map scripts for any Age of Empires game.
For map creators and/or scripters to be deemed notable enough for a Liquipedia page, they must meet all the following criteria. Worth noting this is a work in progress criteria and is subject to change.
- Created at least 3 maps that were part of the ladder or a S-tier tournament.
Tournament Organizers[edit]
Tournament Organizers (TOs) are individuals or groups organizing tournaments. Entities administrating on behalf of another person or organization are considered admins and not a TO.
For an organizer to be given a Liquipedia page, they must meet all of the following criteria.
- Organized tournaments with a combined prizepool of more than $10,000 USD in any tournament format tracked by Liquipedia.
- Organized at least 3 notable Tournaments with at least 8 participants.
Note: It is implied that organizers are investing (money or labor) in the events they run, therefore they are not meant to be added to the sponsor field of {{Infobox league}}.
User pages[edit]
Completely optional, but make your userpage a good indication of who you are!
You can also create any pages that aren't notable per the above guidelines in your userspace.
