Serious Gaming is a former Dutch StarCraft II team, which is has disbanded in April 2012.

Overview[edit]

Serious Gaming announced an official StarCraft II division with full roster on the 15th of April, 2010. Banking on the huge presence SC2 is expected to have in competitive gaming, the Netherlands-based team made its move early.

They have had a long history in competitive RTS gaming and have seen much success with their Warcraft III team in particular, as represented in their squad's heavy Warcraft influence. Serious Gaming is known for focusing on small squads with a few talented players. A philosophy that the CEO of Serious Gaming Bas Peeperkorn has been sticking to since he founded the organization.

Around April 2012, the team dissolved after the organization lost its long lasting sponsorship deal with Razer. While no official announcement of closure was made, RotterdaM had previously talked about the problems faced by the organization.[1] Their Quake player, Cypher, one of the most successful players in recent Quake history, also announced that he no longer played for the organization after the team broke contract conditions[2] and the StarCraft II team dropped out of the team leagues they were playing in.[3]
