Mr. Schwab has been Chairman and a director of The Charles Schwab Corporation since its incorporation in 1986. Mr. Schwab was re-appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the company in 2004. He served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of the company from 1998 to 2003, and Chief Executive Officer of the company from 1986 to 1997. Mr. Schwab was a founder of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. in 1971, has been its Chairman since 1978, and its Chief Executive Officer since 2004. Mr. Schwab is Chairman of Charles Schwab Bank and Chairman and trustee of The Charles Schwab Family of Funds, Schwab Investments, Schwab Capital Trust and Schwab Annuity Portfolios, all registered investment companies. He received an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1961 and a BA from Stanford University in 1959. The Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation aims to assist children with dyslexia. He and his wife have two children, Michael and Helen. Schwab’s marriage to his first wife Susan ended in divorce. With Susan, Schwab had three children, Charles (Sandy), Carrie, and Virginia.
