Pre-order Alert: Hasbro X-Men Marvel Legends Nemesis Build-A-Figure Wave

toynewman - January 09, 2025
The X-Men Marvel Legends Nemesis Build-A-Figure Wave is now available for pre-order at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth.

Amazon Links: Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Cyclops, Gambit, Fabian Cortez, Husk and Marrow

This wave includes the following:

- Age Of Apocalypse Gambit - This figure includes a staff and alternate hands. It also has a cloak and It has pin-less arms and legs. The figure uses brown and blue colors and a new headsculpt. In some comics it had greens and in some browns, but they went with brown for this figure.

- X-Treme X-Men Wolverine - This figure includes 3 pairs of hands and now BAF piece. He has combat fatigue black pants. Ryan would love to do a X-Treme X-Men Rogue and Storm.

- Acolytes Fabian Cortez - Includes 2 Power Effects for his hands and alternate hands. It also includes the Nemesis Left Leg. The figure has a ponytail and a removable cape. The figure has pin-less arms and legs.

- Generation X Husk - This figure includes two headsculpts, a normal one and one with here skin being torn off her metal face. She also comes with a chunk of flesh and alternate hands so you can make it look like she is ripping the skin off her face. The body is pretty much the same one used with the previous Generation X Monet figure with a few minor updates. The figure also includes the Torso/Head for Nemesis.

- Marrow - This figure is based on her 90s/early 2000 look. Has bones sticking out her back. She has two bone swords and alternate hands. She has pin-less arms and legs. She also has the left arm for Nemesis.

- X-Factor Cyclops (Blue and Yellow) - This figure comes with a new updated optic blast and two headsculpts (One for optic blast and regular one). This figure uses the Vulcan body. They also asked in the live-stream if people want to see more figures based on the original X-Factor team. This figure comes with the right arm for Nemesis. Dan Yun says the new optic blast doesn't work perfectly with older Cyclops figures but you can make it work.

- Uncanny X-Force Nightcrawler - This figure includes a sword, two headsculpts and multiple hands. The two headsculpts have different eye colors, again because in the comics he was shown with different eye (Yellow and red) colors. This figure has pin-less arms and legs. Ryan in the live-stream made sure to note that Uncanny X-Force is an interesting team, possibly hinting more members from that team will be getting the figure treatment. This figure also includes the dome and back piece for Nemesis.

The Build-A-Figure for this wave is Nemesis. This is a more modern version of the character which is why it looks different from the previous Holocaust/Nemesis figure Hasbro did years ago. The figure has tubes on the back that attach to his right arm cannon. The dome is removable and the skull head can turn and has an articulated jaw. The Skull head is also encased in fire.

I think the trade off there is that Pulse ALWAYS fill their orders and fill them on time. Unlike other sites like Amazon and BBTS I've never had an order canceled or put on infinite back order.

So, I'll preface this by saying that I generally use Pulse for any Hasbro order that isn't an exclusive, and I buy A LOT of Hasbro stuff. Generally speaking, I like them, but I have had my issues. On at least three occasions they've cancelled items on me during their big sales, even though I'd gotten my orders in pretty much the hour the sale kicked off, and then after several days they'd say "oops, we're out of stock". I mean yeah, you didn't fulfill it when I bought it, apparently allowed for more orders than you had items, and then cancelled it even though my order was in for days before the site flipped over to "out of stock." So I have a hard time trusting them on that score. That said, they've never argued with me about replacing something and when a sold-out Pulsecon exclusive vanished in the delivery process (GB Tully with Terror Dog) they replaced it without incident. Still wonder where that wound up going.

I have full confidence in any pre-order I get from Pulse.

Amazon, yeah I can't trust them for any pre-order that isn't an exclusive that I HAVE to trust them on, too many random cancellations there- while Big Bad has only cancelled items on me that involved unavoidable issues with the manufacturer, like when a company folds or, for example, when that "totally not Pitt you guys" Pitt figure got slapped with an injunction from the guy who owns Pitt. Also a random Lizard-Wave Spider-Man Noir, which sat on pre-order for like 2 years before one of us cancelled it. No other issues with Big Bad for me.

My issue with Pulse though, is that if an item is set to go up at a certain time, that time will always transform (and roll out!) into anything from 2 minutes after the hour to 20 minutes to 40 minutes to who knows what after the hour (and in this case, days apparently). It's just a roll of the dice when they'll manage to get it up on their site, whereas BB and EE have it up the second that clock rolls over. And you'd think that a billion-dollar company like Hasbro would be able to match something like "when the clock rolls over, this order page/update goes live," instead of giving the impression that the interns are running the website. A website which has been "updated" into an objective mess, I'm going to add.

So anyway, I put in an order of the Can't Miss/Likely to Sell Out ones with Big Bad (for now) and whenever Hasbro manages to put these up on their site, I'll order the rest. I'm excited for everyone in the wave here. Even the half-assed AoA Gambit. I hope they continue to trickle out the occasional AoA character (Bishop and Havok next? Wouldn't mind a Banshee, for that matter).

I love Pulse, but they aren't perfect.

I once got an empty box instead of two Classified Retro Lady Jays.

And they can be quite slow, particularly on GI Joe stuff. Their new site is also really, really bad.

You're right. I should have included the caveat that I'VE personally never had a problem with them getting my order right. I have heard some horror stories and personally I have a problem with their shipping policy and the price of the Plus membership so I do order from those OTHER vendors whenever possible. I'm hesitant to say anything else bad about them because some people have made it their sworn duty to hunt down and destroy anyone and their family who has the audacity to utter a bad word about Hasbro or Pulse. LOL. I'll leave it at that.

Then they make sure to set aside enough to fill their own orders before doling out whatever's left for the other vendors to fill theirs. I've had too many orders canceled by Amazon or put on back order from BBT or EE to count. Never has Pulse screwed up a order.

Bizarre. Why is Hasbro so incapable of getting its act together for its own site? They're almost always the last ones to put something up, whereas everyone else is ready to go the moment the clock strikes. I've never understood why they don't put the resources in to their direct portal for sales to the masses when they're the largest figure distributor not named Amazon.

There is a backend problem with the site.

Hour and a half in and not on PULSE? This is a Fan Chanel release is it not?

That's what they said. I went ahead and ordered Marrow and Gambit via BBTS.

I went ahead and pre-ordered the full wave. I was originally going to skip Wolverine but went ahead and ordered him also. Husk is the one that I'm the most excited for. Digging Fabian and Marrow also.
