How it works
-
Change/retrieve my password
On the home screen, click Forgotten password? at the bottom of the Account Login panel and follow instructions to reset your password.
If you are already logged into your account then please log out first.
-
Change my email address
Once you have logged into your account in the top right hand corner of the screen you will see Edit Account, click on this. In the email field, update your email address and then press save.
-
Cancel my account and withdraw from the programme
When logged into your account, click Edit Account at the top of the screen, then click Delete Account. When prompted, confirm that you want to delete your account. This will withdraw you from any existing relationship(s) and will mark your account as inactive on the system.

-
Arrange a meeting using the platform
You can use the platform to send out meeting requests to users you are in an active relationship with. To use this feature click on the Relationships tab, choose the relationship you want to set up the meeting for, click on Meetings. You can then complete the meeting information and press Save. Once you pressed Save a notification will be sent to the mentor/mentee you have arranged the meeting with.
-
Use video chat for meetings
The inbuilt video chat tool provides the capability to have an online video meeting directly from the platform. You simply select Video Chat when you create the meeting.
When it is time for the meeting, simply use the Video Chat link from the platform, calendar invite or mail notification. All you need is the link to your video chat room meeting and a web browser, no other software is needed.
Video chat works on all modern browsers. If you decide to screen share during a video chat, then we recommend using Chrome. Sharing a browser tab gives the best experience. Select any "Chrome Tab" that does not say "Video Chat".

View the SWOT / G-STAR / Goals for my relationship
Once a proposal has been accepted your Relationship dashboard will show a First conversation button. When you click on this you will be able to access the SWOT, G-STAR and Goals tools, which both parties in the relationship can use. These tools can be useful in helping to clearly identify challenges and opportunities to work on during the relationship.
Once you have completed and saved the tools you can re-access them by going into the Relationships tab, and using the Goals option. You can then either view, amend, update or add new.

Search for a mentor
Once you have completed your profile you can start your mentor search. Click on Find Mentor. You will see a list of matching mentors who have the closest match to the requirements you selected in your profile set up.
The search lists the mentors who have the closest match to your requirements at the top of the list. As you move down the list the mentors have some but not all of the criteria. We call this a broad match.
You can change the selection criteria in the search drop downs and click Update search results to narrow or widen your search.
If you only want to see mentors who exactly match your requirements use the Add exact matching feature and select only the fields you wish to exactly match on. You may find that there are no mentors who exactly match your requirements, in which case you may need to go back to the broad match.
-
Wait before a mentor accepts my proposal
Generally speaking, most mentors respond quite quickly to proposals. However, to allow for the fact that a mentor may be unable to review and respond to a proposal we send out reminders to mentors 3, 7, 15 days after a proposal is sent.
If they have still not responded after 20 days, we will automatically withdraw your proposal to the mentor and ask you to select an alternative mentor.
-
Edit my mentoring proposal
From the main navigation click on Relationships. Find the relevant relationship and then click on the Details link. You will then be able to view the proposal. In the bottom right hand corner you will see Edit details. You can click on this to make changes to the proposal.
-
Withdraw / reinstate my mentoring proposal
From the main navigation click on Relationships. Find the relevant relationship and then click on the Details link. In the bottom left hand corner of the proposal you will see Withdraw. You can click on this to withdraw the proposal. The other person in the relationship will be notified of the withdrawal. If you then wish to reinstate the proposal you can simply click on the Reopen Request in the bottom right hand corner of the proposal.

-
Switch off my availability status as a mentor
When logged into your account, click Availability at the top of the screen, then select the button marked Unavailable.
You will know your account is set to unavailable when you see the message You are currently unavailable to new requests on the Availability and Profile screens.
-
Wait before I receive a mentoring proposal
This can vary greatly. You may find that a mentee looking for a mentor with your skills and experience sends you a proposal within hours of you registering. However, an appropriate match could take weeks or months, so don't be disheartened if you are not snapped up immediately.
If at any time you feel unable to offer your mentoring support you can switch off your availability (see above) and then switch it back on again when your circumstances change.
-
Withdraw from a mentoring relationship
From the main navigation click on Relationships. Find the relevant relationship and then click on the Details link. In the bottom left hand corner of the proposal you will see Withdraw. Once clicked the other person in the relationship will be notified of the withdrawal.
-
Reinstate a proposal rejected in error
Rejected proposals can still be accessed from the relationships dashboard. Choose the relationship you have rejected then click on the Details link. In the bottom left hand corner of the proposal you will see Reopen Request, click on this. The other person in the relationship will then be notified.
