Translation
[edit]- Why can't I translate some terms like Translate or Submit a logo?
- Because people who click these links have to understand English anyway.
- I cannot translate some messages of the voting application.
- They have to be translated at Wikimedia Commons (all translations, translation template which can be used and posted with {{edit request}} to the appropriate talk page; if you have questions, just ask User:Rillke)
Elimination round & Final vote
[edit]Voting
[edit]- Cutelect?
- Speak Cute elect. This is the voting-application's name.
- Are your votes public?
- Yes, they are tallied on individual voting pages located on Meta.
- Is the software used for voting documented?
- Yes, at Commons:Help:EnhancedPOTY.js. Some features like the slideshow are disabled and the application's name has been changed, however.
- What happens if I vote for more than 3 proposals?
- We will consider every vote given after your 3 votes invalid. (They will not be respected while tallying.)
- Can I remove my votes?
- You are allowed to do so until the voting-period ends.
- Can I vote without JavaScript enabled?
- Of course. At Wikivoyage/Logo/2013/R1/Gallery, click one of the "Vote this logo"-links and follow the instructions on the vote page. See also next answer.
- What can I do if the vote buttons are blurred/grey?
- If you have trouble with Cutelect not recognizing you as eligible, please click the info-button at Wikivoyage/Logo/2013/R1/Gallery and then Votepage, read the instructions and add your vote manually. However, make sure that we can identify you as eligible when it comes to counting the votes.
- Where is the preference ranking displayed in the vote-lists?
- It's not. It will be determined by evaluating the history of each vote-list. It would be terribly difficult to ensure that each voter would not add vote 1 two times and it's unclear how we would have to proceed in this case without disqualifying this voter.
- What maths is used to weight the prefs?
- First have a look at the page explaining the background and the rules specifically for this poll, then follow the link to the Logo selection procedure and read point 4 of the General logo selection process rules.
- Who's doing the auditing?
- It is planned that Rillke writes a script that does this, which will be open source and can be verified by everyone with JavaScript knowledge. Everyone is invited to randomly pick samples and verify that the script did it correct. Finally, a representative by the Wikimedia Foundation will do checks and approve the results.
- What if I decide to change the order of my preferences?
- First, remove all your votes and then vote again - in the order of your preferences as lined-out at Wikivoyage/Logo 2013.
General
[edit]- How can I see comments other users left or comment on a proposal?
- At Wikivoyage/Logo/2013/R1/Gallery (elimination vote, otherwise Wikivoyage/Logo/2013/R2/Gallery), click the info-button, then Comments.
- I want to change something, correcting a spelling mistake, change a background color, etc.
- If you know what you are doing, please feel invited and use a meaningful edit summary.
- Everything related to the candidates is stored at

- Why does the banner look so ugly?
- Really? If you feel annoyed, use an ad-blocker or organize the next voting.
- How can I experience the banner in a better typeface?
- Lenka Stabilo is available at various sources; it will be used instead in the banner, if installed in your system.
