[edit]Thanks!
[edit]Thanks for mixing fixing the mess that I sometimes leave behind. You are a good wik-friend. I have had to submit a number of reports here and I have to appear in my semester exams from 18. That's why perhaps I couldn't check for these things. ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:53, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- Don’t worry, typos may arrive for everybody. And Translate markup is really painful. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 18:58, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. Anyways, do you have any idea about how can I fix this? The translation for "this image" and if I am not able to do it locally. ─ The Aafī (talk) 16:56, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- It is hard to investigate for me, as I can’t read Urdu, but I think most English text come from ur:سانچہ:Deletable_file. --Pols12 (talk) 20:43, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

- That comes from Template:Shortcut caption. --Pols12 (talk) 20:43, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Translation request
[edit]Hello! Any change you might be willing to translate en:Wiki Loves Pride into French? I saw you made an edit to a Queering Wikipedia page, and your profile says you do translation work. Figured I'd ask. Either way, happy editing! -Another Believer (talk) 05:32, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
- I’m sorry to decline your request, because I’m not inclined to translate Wikipedia articles, especially because it speaks about Wikimedia movement itself. Yet, I would be glad to help translate some content on Meta-Wiki, if needed. I hope you understand. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 13:12, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
- No worries at all! -Another Believer (talk) 05:01, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
Iberoconf pages
[edit]Hello @Pols12 Thank you for the changes you are making to the Iberoconf 2023 pages[1][2], however, we appreciate your input for it is already pre-designed so please do not make changes and/or configurations to them. Thank you very much, Monica. - @Monica Bonilla (WMCO), I understand. However, while editing the pages, please keep them accessible. Please also note, if you expect them to be translatable, we’ll need to mark them for translation, so they will need to comply with Internationalization guidelines. Please ping me if you need further help, especially for internationalization. Regards, -- Pols12 (talk) 16:02, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
Ideas?
[edit]Hi @Pols12, I hope you are doing well. Could you please help me here? I marked the template for translation after adding tvar tags but since it uses some more templates inside it, I'm not getting how do I prepare these three things for translation there: Project In Search of the Roots, NDEC Wikipedia Editorial & Research Team and Notre Dame College, Dhaka. The problem is that it is wrapped in color templates and I don't really feel okay in bring the color stuff into translation. I would appreciate your help. Thank you! ─ The Aafī (talk) 05:21, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- With templates and complex formatting, we can’t do wonders. We should only try to mask template names and parameters which could be wrongly “translated” by translators. So I would use

- to provide

- However, in many cases, and in that specific case, we can improve the wikifying to better separate formatting and content. I have just edited the template to color links through templateStyles rather than through color template. -- Pols12 (talk) 17:32, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks @Pols12, I just fixed the tvars and marked the template for translation. Thanks for your kind support. we can’t do wonders but you always do wonders for me. Thanks a lot. ─ The Aafī (talk) 03:01, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
CIS-A2k and stuff
[edit]Is there any way to keep CIS-A2K/Requests/Projects out of translation because it is just a header that's already in translation but at the same time keep the page in such a position that people find the header included on that page in translation (available to be read in another language). Do you think removing this page from translation, and subsequently removing noinclude stuff from CIS-A2K/Requests/header/Project solves this problem? Regards, ─ The Aafī (talk) 10:50, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- The problem being that the pages such condition or using the tvars don't help the translation of that page get transcluded such as on CIS-A2K/Requests/ur and others. ─ The Aafī (talk) 10:53, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Unless one adds a language code. See this. ─ The Aafī (talk) 10:53, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Pinging @Jayantanth from the CIS-A2K who happens to be a translation admin himself. My suggestion is that we just mark the header for translation and since we need its translated versions on several base pages, we remove no-include wrapper from "languages" tag. ─ The Aafī (talk) 10:58, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- The background is that pages like CIS-A2K/Requests/Projects are really not okay for being in translation. There are just requests that could be posted in any Indic languages. If we discourage the page from translation, people can't get through the translated header, given the pages current setup. ─ The Aafī (talk) 11:02, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

- Here, we have two possibilities:
- Keep the page in Translate system, with this hack: using an empty
<translate></translate>
pair. Only the page title will be translatable. The main issue is: translation pages are not editable and each change in source page must be marked for translation to be visible on translation pages, which is confusing for discussion participants. - Transclude the header in user interface language: we use

(or dynamite) but we remove the page from Translate system, i.e. we don’t add any translate tag. To see the header in another language, the editors must change the MediaWiki language in their preferences.
- Keep the page in Translate system, with this hack: using an empty
- For discussion pages, I recommend to use the second solution: it ensures the page is ever editable and up-to-date. So I’m applying it; if you would like the first one instead, please add an empty translate tag pair in the page. 🙂 --Pols12 (talk) 13:25, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- I'm happy with it. Thanks once again. ─ The Aafī (talk) 13:39, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
Preparing for translation
[edit]Hello! I was working on migrating Wikipediholic to the translate extension. I wanted to split the bullet and numbered lists as per the i18n guidelines, but the extension keeps complaining about nested translate tags. Before marking it for translation and start porting old ones via Special:PageMigration, could you please take a look and let me know what I'm missing? Feel free to do the changes you feel are necessary. Thank you. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 15:10, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- Note: I tried to keep the number of "translate" tags low so I only added them on top and bottom of the page. Maybe I should further split the source to avoid those so-called "nested" translating tags... —MarcoAurelio (talk) 15:15, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- @MarcoAurelio, I see you finally achieved to split the units. Indeed, we must close the “global” translate tag before opening a new one for a list item or other short item.
- The segmentation was fine (good job!); I only changed tvar names, since they must be unique only per unit, not in the whole page.
- I let you mark the page for translation. -- Pols12 (talk) 16:16, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hello. Thanks for taking a look and fixing that. I wasn't sure the tvar names had to be per-unit or per-page :-) I also tried to keep out of the translate tags the <poem></poem> ones, but the extension doesn't like it. I was wondering if we could use the translate nowrap with these? —MarcoAurelio (talk) 16:22, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- We could exclude poem tags with the following syntax:
</translate>
<poem style="font-style: italic">
<translate>
- But translators would not know they are translating a poem. Also, some languages avoid italic formatting, so translator should be able to remove it.
- I think the
nowrap
attribute is useless here, as long as there are no empty line inside the poem: if it is not translated, the whole poem will be wrapped inside<div lang="en">
, that should not cause any issue. - -- Pols12 (talk) 16:35, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'll wait a bit before marking it for translation just in case. Many thanks for your help. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:22, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- So... this is not going as expected. See Wikipediholic/de. Importing these pre-Translate translations is breaking some stuff. I think I'll revert and leave things as they were :-( —MarcoAurelio (talk) 21:26, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you expect with PageMigration. The pages had not the same structure, so they cannot be aligned automatically. Actually they even seem to not being translations. PageMigration can help to restore some contents which are actual translations, but we cannot keep distinct contents through translation pages using Translate. -- Pols12 (talk) 21:49, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- I was working under the assumption (it's been a while I last used PageMigration) that I could restore the old text before enabling page translation swapping and deleting translation units using that special page. I've restored everything as it was before, except for the page moves which I'll leave since it allows me to use the languages template and get rid of wikipediholic. Apologies for the inconvenience. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 22:04, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- I think that may be possible, but that would create fake translations for the units. If we expect the page to be synced, the English text is better than previous “custom” text, in my opinion.
- No inconvenience at all for me, don’t worry. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 22:14, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

Text update - Human rights team meta page
[edit]Hi @Pols12 I hope you are well. First of all, thank you kindly for all your work in making the Team's page translation friendly. To that end I am reaching out because we are hoping to update the text of the Overview tab to better reflect the work that we are doing (the current version was drafted almost 1.5 years ago). Before I proceed to tinkering around, I wanted to ask for your guidance. I was initially thinking I could edit the page within the translation tags, but I am quite lost with that. Or do I delete the tags and one would have add them at a later for a fresh translation in other languages? A heartfelt thank you for your help in advance. Best regards, MFischer (WMF) (talk) 11:58, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- (You posted on my 2022 archive, I moved the discussion here.)
- Thank you for contacting me. 🙂 Actually, for each paragraph, you should decide whether to display English text or outdated translation while the up-to-date translation is available:
- If the new text is fully different from the older one, you should remove the unit marker (
<!--T:xx-->
). The translation will be replaced with English text while no new translation is available. - If the new text has only some changes, you should keep the unit marker: the translation will be highlighted as “obsolete”, but it will still display.
- If you move a paragraph elsewhere on the page, keep the unit marker along with the text to preserve translations.
- If the new text is fully different from the older one, you should remove the unit marker (
- I hope that helps! --Pols12 (talk) 12:38, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Aha, noted. Amazing! This helps a lot. Thank you so much @Pols12 🙂 MFischer (WMF) (talk) 13:48, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
Wikimédia Tunisie pour traduction
[edit]Bonjour,
Merci d'avoir marqué quelques sous-pages de Wikimédia Tunisie pour traduction. Serait-ce possible de faire la même chose pour la page principale (Wikimedia Tunisie) ? Une traduction avait été entamée mais le contenu original en anglais avait ensuite changé, il est stable désormais. Moumou82 (talk) 21:24, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- Oui, je suis en train de regarder ça. 🙂 Je pense juste faire quelques changements de wikification avant. -- Pols12 (talk) 21:40, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your sharing your knowledge around css
[edit]Dear @Pols12, I wanted to thank you for your edits on this css template that I recently created. I am trying to learn some basic css skills and your edit helped me solve an issue I was struggling with for some time: combining css formating with the pre-defined title formating on Meta. Thanks for that and for fixing some of my translation markups too! Eva Martin (WMDE) (talk) 13:04, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- I’m happy my edits are helpful. CSS are sometimes complex to understand. Actually, TemplateStyles sheets are expected to ever override defaults styles since the
.mw-parser-out
class is automatically added, given them a higher weight. But a higher weight cannot override a more specific selector. E.g. if you add a global wrapper which change the font color, the headings will not inherit the color from the global wrapper because a specific color rule exists for headings in the default style sheet. -- Pols12 (talk) 14:11, 18 April 2023 (UTC)- Thanks for sharing this very helpful link and providing additional information on TemplateStyles sheets. Eva Martin (WMDE) (talk) 14:21, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
Thank you!
[edit]Thank you for helping fixing the scholarship page! Could you help fix it again with the new update? Thanks so much for the help! Tofeiku (talk) 05:30, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Done I have marked your changes for translation. Please do not manually touch the unit markers (
<!--T:XX-->
) since they are automatically handled. You may remove it if you remove the following paragraph or previous heading, but do not change the unit Id, that would switch translation unit contents. 😉 -- Pols12 (talk) 19:59, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Help with translation
[edit]Hi, thanks a lot for marking the ldp pages for translation. I'm learning a lot from your changes. I've tagged this page for translation. Can you please check it and provide suggestions and mark it if it's ready? And I'm trying to use this page as a template (using here on this page and will remove the same text from there. It's because we are sending mail invitations in english and will keep translations in this meta page and refer non-english speakers here so that non-english speakers can also understand our invitation message. Will add the message on the "participation" page as a template for documentation purpose. But for now, adding this as a template is breaking the codes, I tried it once. Can you please look into this matter? TIA, I'm really learning a lot about translation syntaxes from your changes. BIDROHI Hello.. 11:16, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- + please also take a look at Leadership Development Working Group/Content/ldp summary. Not sure why the caption for the big diagram is not showing up on screen. ─ The Aafī (talk) 12:13, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- I have marked Invitation message for translation: it was well prepared, good job! (Besides, you may want to use template to limit spam.)
- I don’t see the message content on the page you linked. To transclude a translatable template, it must be marked for translation. So, you should now be able to transclude it. If you meet an issue again, please ping me. 🙂
- @TheAafi, the caption is displayed while hovering. If you expect a bottom caption, you need to provide
thumb
parameter to the File call.

- Thank you @Pols12. Looking forward to see you at Wikimania if you are attending. ─ The Aafī (talk) 16:44, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi again, @Pols12.
- Thanks a lot for marking the message page.
- You didn't find my edit because I only did a preview instead of publishing out of fear that it would break the page. Now I've done it and the only problem there is <languages/> template is being presented again since it's also present in the main template page ː) -- BIDROHI Hello.. 18:01, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- I have added <noinclude> arround the language bar, that should solve this issue. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 15:10, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
DateT
[edit]Hi @Pols12, Any ideas about having the date reflected as: 26 June 2023 instead of June 26, 2023? ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:43, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
- @TheAafi, I believe, it is a cultural difference between American English and British English. We should probably consider using the same format that discussion timestamps, indeed. That would require to refactor date which is complex: we can use or a Lua module to simplify the code. But we should get community support (maybe through a message on Babel) before any change. -- Pols12 (talk) 20:31, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, a Lua module has already been drafted on Commons which fixes that. We probably can use it. -- Pols12 (talk) 22:09, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Thank you message from jawp (:
[edit]Hello, Pols12, just a note with gratitude: jawp has a translation request page, wherein your contribution was noted and a eager requester was so appreciating your help.
You have matched up Fuzzied pages: , but sometimes segments are leaped by the fuzzy, and you have filled them back from the translation database. That means a lot to us, and I can't tell you enough how far and wide you have helped us, dōmo arigatō d=(^o^)=b FYI, as a group among jawp is testing feasibility if a sleepy giant will wake up with a User Group, and that group would take care of newer contributors IMHO. Cheers, -- Omotecho (talk) 17:43, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you @Omotecho for having conveyed me that really kind message. I’m sometimes unsure whether what I’m doing is useful, that’s so bolstering! 😊 -- Pols12 (talk) 18:12, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- Well, same here on the further end of the dining table: a side note, 7th July is a festive date among us Orientals; ancient Chinese have invented a date for wide dreams.
- Japanese thought it’d be nice to write your unfilled dream on colored paper strips, and hang those on bamboo branches. We used to bring the branches to a riverbank the morning after, and made the River carry it down to eternity. (No more done for SDGs)
- We call it Tanabata, 七夕 (emoji-ed 🎋), still a night to gaze up a monsoon sky and wish to see the Milky Way.
- Maybe we on the translators’ table need reels of paper strips, and a forest of bamboo for our wishes? (; Happy midsummer to you. Omotecho (talk) 14:43, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
Global Advocacy Meta-Wiki updates
[edit]Hi @Pols12 thank you for your vigilance and help on the GA team! Responding here to your message: "Partial undo: why do you remove translatability of the page, @FPutz (WMF)? Also, are “Resources” and “Documentation” supposed to be duplicates? what about “Get Involved” and “Work With Us”?"
I am very bad at editing Meta-Wiki. Still very much in my early learning days. As you can tell - even the changes I'm trying to make to the tabs haven't worked well. Right now I'm trying to make a series of changes that will help me respond to feedback we've received about how the page could be improved. Unfortunately I am really, really bad at using translation tabs. For this reason I'm just defaulting to deleting them when I'm trying to make edits so that I can get the edits done faster and then try to re-tag for translation, which is easier than trying to make all my changes within the boundaries of these translation tags (given my current skill level). I am really sorry I understand this is not ideal, and that others like you have done a wonderful public service my tagging these pages for translation in the first place!
I am getting a training on Monday with someone else at the Foundation so I hope I can make some improvements thereafter! Always open to more advice. Thank you for helping me get better! FPutz (WMF) (talk) FPutz (WMF) (talk) 14:43, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Not a big deal, I know the Translate markup is pretty annoying. To allow you to work peacefully, I see two solutions:
- Add a draft or under construction template in the page while you’re working on it.
- You can also duplicate the page in a /sandbox subpage before mirgrating the changes to the main page.
- Anyway, please ping a translation admin (like me) when you want the changes to be validated for translation. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 15:02, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for this! I'll be back at it next week and will be sure to let you know if I have any more issues. I really appreciate your willingness to help me find solutions and sharing these options with me. FPutz (WMF) (talk) 18:36, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
When and how "Translate this page" link is appeared?
[edit]Hello, thank you very much for the translation-related fixes to Kurdish Wikipedia Editathon - 2023 project! But why isn't there a "Translate this page" link yet? Thanks you in advance! Aram (talk) 14:59, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- I did not mark the page for translation because of the banner noticing the page is not stable. We avoid to mark pages for translation until they are stable, so translators do not work uselessly. I have just marked the page, though. Please ping me, or post a message at Meta talk:Babylon, if you want some other pages to be marked. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 20:10, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your help and kind reply! Your statement is 100% true. The truth is I have no experience preparing metawiki translation pages before, so I see myself as a newcomer here. :)
- I’d like to talk to you more and experience more, but unfortunately, I’ll be offline indefinitely. Actually, other tabs of the project needed to be marked. So, maybe Kushared will contact you instead of me. I have installed the bot to update the statistics and it may come into view from time to time in December. Thank you again! Request for help
[edit]Hello Pols12, I'd like to ask you to help us mark this page for translation in its current version and this one also please. CapitainAfrika (talk) 12:30, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- @CapitainAfrika, I note you rewrote all the content into English. The page has wrongly been marked for translation as an English source page, but we can also mark it as a French page. The main benefit is you can write and edit it in French. The main con is translators will see French as source language, so it may a bit harder for them to translate if they don’t know French. Please confirm me you want to use English as source language, or revert your edits to leave French content and ping me so I change the source language to French.
- Same for the second page: we can use Linguala as source language if you want. Please let me know about your preference. -- Pols12 (talk) 19:00, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, yes, @Pols12, I totally agree with your proposal. I accept it doubly. Thank you very much and good luck to you! But my only big concern is that with French the translation will be difficult for many people, @Pols12:, that worries me a little.CapitainAfrika (talk) 19:44, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- So I finally kept English, so more translators can easily translate. 🙂 Please let me know any issue. -- Pols12 (talk) 21:59, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Pols12,
- I made some changes to the translation but there are no changes on the translation pages, no updates. I also noticed that on certain pages there is a double display of some elements. Please help me. Thanks in advance. CapitainAfrika (talk) 11:31, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
- @CapitainAfrika: because of a bug, there is currently a big delay for translation edits to be visible, sorry. -- Pols12 (talk) 14:22, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

usage of WAMUG template for Kaawiki user group
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your recent corrections on our page! Should we create a new template instead of using WAMUG template? Or is it possible to reuse it? Thank you in advance! Inosham () 19:56, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Inosham! Actually, you can reuse WAMUG template as you done, that’s not a problem. However, if you want this 4-tabs banner to be displayed on several pages, then you should probably create a new template which would contain the WAMUG template call. -- Pols12 (talk) 20:04, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! I got it! Inosham () 20:06, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

Banner in Portuguese for regional campaign
[edit]Hi @Pols12, I realized you made some edits to the campaigns page and that the banner in Portuguese that we had added is now gone/was replaced again by the banner in Spanish. Can you please help us here? Maybe we added it in a not-very-common way, but it was the fix we managed. The banner the page should use is this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Banner_campanha_Aten%C3%A7%C3%A3o!_Mulheres_fazendo_historia.jpg Thanks for your help. Contaminadas (talk) 13:50, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for reaching me out, @Contaminadas. I made two mistakes:
- I forgot to import pt-br translations to header template; this is now fixed, you may review them and fix them at the template page.
- I removed the translatability for banner image, because I did not see there was a localized version. I am fixing the template.
- Having a template allow you to use the same translations on the 4 pages, rather than having to duplicate them. Sorry for the inconvenience. -- Pols12 (talk) 14:18, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
Archiving Talk:Movement Charter
[edit]Hi there, Pols12. I'm wondering of the best way to archive the talk page up to this section to Talk:Movement Charter/Archive 4, in a way that would preserve the edit history. Do you have any advice? Thanks, RamzyM (WMF) (talk) 21:22, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @RamzyM (WMF) Unfortunately, we cannot split a page preserving edit history. The main page will keep history, and the archive page will get a copy-paste. Permanent links (linked timestamp) should provide redirection to archive page (experimental feature). -- Pols12 (talk) 21:32, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your answer, that's useful to know. Cheers, RamzyM (WMF) (talk) 21:38, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
The event registration button disappeared after translation?
[edit]Hello, Pols12, you recently initiated me to translating pages on Meta. Could you please explain/fix why the Event registration button disappeared after translation. This is a problem for this multi-language event. In Belgium we use 4 languages... Thanks! Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) (talk) 20:48, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- Unexpected issue.
- Are you sure you had enabled registration on this page (i.e. the button was available)?
- Are you sure nobody has disabled registration? Unfortunately this is not logged.
- Multi-language events are supported by CampaignEvents tool, that should not be an issue. A bug might happen, though. -- Pols12 (talk) 21:14, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- I confirm that the Event subscription was initially enabled before I started translating the page. I did not remove the button... Could it be reactivated? But I do not know how this can be enforced? Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) (talk) 21:23, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- I just open a bug report. I would expect you can reactivate the registration in the same way you had enabled it the first time. I’m sorry, I can’t help further because I’m not an event organizer, I never tested that feature. -- Pols12 (talk) 21:40, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

Does English need always be the "master" language?
[edit]@Pols12 Thanks for helping me above. When using the language tags, does English must be the master language? Or could e.g. Dutch be the master language and English (besides French) become one of the translated languages? Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) (talk) 16:43, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- You can use any source (“master”) language: English is not mandatory. 🙂 The translation admin has to change the page language before marking it for translation.
- Using English is not a technical requirement, but this usually allows more translators to translate, e.g. I am able to translate from English to French, but I cannot translate from Dutch to French.

- Thanks for your info. I have been looking now at Meta:Translate extension, mw:Help:Extension:Translate, mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Page translation example, and mw:Extension:Translate. Could what you have written above be documented somewhere? It would help other translators. I have another questions:
- Could I possibly request the "page translation administration right" on meta: (and how)?
- --Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) 11:20, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- It is not stated the translatable page must be in English anywhere either, but I understand that may be confusing. I just added a small note at “Page translation example” doc page. Meta:Translate extension page should be rewrote, it duplicates many content from other places.
- You can request for translation adminship, but you should first train yourself, adding translate tags to the pages you want to be translatable. We indeed ensure applicants well apply our internationalization guidelines before granting them.

Rename an Event page
[edit]Could you please help/advise me to rename the page Event:Wiki Loves Heritage Belgium 2024 to a subpage Event:Wiki Loves Heritage Belgium/2024 (without creating a redirect)? The thing is, I realised too late, that I would like to have it as a yearly repeating event... Thanks! --Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) 17:33, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Done. Please let me know if I wrongly understood your request, or if you meet any issue again. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 18:35, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, @Pols12, I could not rename the page myself, because I did not have the necessary admin rights... I have now created the master page Event:Wiki Loves Heritage Belgium to be able to link other (future, yearly) subpages, and other links to more/related information. --Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) 19:28, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Meta:Design library
[edit]Hi @Pols12: We are cleaning up stuff that we aren't maintaining any more. I am asking about DCW header which you have linked on Meta:Design library. If this is useful there, I can just delete the translation sub-pages, move it to an alternate title, to make up a way to move the header that we have been using regularly. Makes sense? signed, Aafi (DCW) (talk) 16:40, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Done I have removed the link which was no more relevant anyway. 🙂 -- Pols12 (talk) 17:51, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Pols12, thank you. This is gone. signed, Aafi (DCW) (talk) 18:13, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- You may want to put up this one there - I don't get which set of the headers it belongs to. signed, Aafi (DCW) (talk) 18:18, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Pols12, thank you. This is gone. signed, Aafi (DCW) (talk) 18:13, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
