Little Poppins Bag Class
Shelley Taylor started her love for sewing as a child. She learned from her mother and both grandmothers, watching them quilt and sew clothes for the family. Shelley quickly learned to sew her own clothes and after she got married, luckily, she had girls, so yes, she made their dresses and school clothes. Then granddaughters came along and she made dresses and everyday wear for them. Along the way Shelley learned the needle art of smocking. Winning Best of Class, Best of Show, and several blue ribbons in the Pima County Fair, Tucson, AZ. That lead to the art of French hand sewing by machine. Needless to say, her girls and granddaughters were the best dressed!
Her love affair with bag making started by buying a simple kit at a local quilt shop here in Utah and she was quickly hooked. Before she knew it, she was off and running. The most popular bag she has taught and has done many special orders is the Poppins Bag. Shelley teaches bag classes at Corn Wagon Quilt Co. in Springville, Utah, and at Quilters Crossing in American Fork, Utah. She has also taught at Village Dry Goods in Brigham City, Utah. Shelley has also taught at various retreats. Shelley has classes in her home. She loves to watch students attempt a new technique, that they have never tried before, and to be excited to have made a bag when they thought that they couldn’t. She will teach you how to take your fear of sewing with zippers! When she looks at fabric, she doesn't see a quilt, she sees a bag! She has done several special orders for those that are timid at bag making.
So, come along with Shelley and enjoy the journey, while making the Poppins Bag. You will quickly become a fellow Baginner!

Cost: $75.00
Class attendees will need to purchase the pattern and supplies to make the bag. More information will be sent after class registration closes on March 22, 2025 or when filled. Limited to 15 people.
