I adore You Watase's work so much. The art, the humor, the romance! All incredible. This story is so fun and I didn't mind the love triangle. Night and Sushi are both so different but I love them both, I get why Riiko would be in the middle. The only thing I found disappointing was how quickly it ended and how the only thing moving the plot was the romance. There was nothing else going on. I thought it was so interesting that Riiko had friend drama but that gets resolved so quickly. Even at the end I was rooting for Soushi to come back, ...

This is trash, I won't even bother in writing a detailed review, I just skipped to the last ep and i found out that: 1st He never tells her that he could see her, I mean, Seriously!? That was disappointing, but not as much as the facte that they literally don't progress ANYTHING, and mith anything I mean FU**ING ANYTHING UNTILL THE LAST CHAPTER, let me rephrase it; you could read the first episode and the last and you woudn't have missed any real romance/character development. The mangaka dedicates just TWO PAGES (with just one strip of images each) to the whole (dating) relationship between ...

A gag manga, plain and simple fun! Until it isn't!

While it seems like the bit would run stale quickly, the art style really compliments the hilarity of the situation. Additionally, I enjoy reading various ways that they try to skirt the boundaries of what's allowed, but also if the consequences of such a seemingly hilarious but ultimately tragic supe
rnatural phenomenon.

The characterization of the father makes it a big hard to like him, but he redeems himself in his funny reactions. In a way, it is a nightmare scenario. They will never truly be able to enjoy a normal livelihood ever again thanks to the ...

Do NOT listen to the people that did not recommend this manga, this manga is MAGNIFICENT. The romance between Rintaro and Kaoruko will make you feel VERY lonely (in a good way). The fact that there are also SIDE COUPLES TOO?! Sign me up man! i BEG you to read this, please, please? I cant wait for the anime to come out, you have NO idea how excited I am. Every single damn character is so well written it is insane. Typical romance animes barely show the characters family, past, etc. However, this manga is an exception to that. This manga shows the characters parents, ...

Immediately after I finished reading it for the first time, I wanted to start all over again. I absolutely love this 4koma!

A shoulder above the rest in terms of quality, humor, and character as the seemingly mundane day-to-day is made intriguing, entirely facilitated by the character writing. The star is the titled "Gorilla", who comes to terms with his relationship with his brother as a grounding force in his life. This is co-opted by his arc of maturing, and the relationship he develops with his niece. The two have a dynamic similar to bickering siblings, but eventually (even if she doesn't want to admit ...

This series is really a fun read, the characters are very vivid and can run your imagination and the setting is thought out well, and the fantasy aspect is very engaging.

with the plot coming into play around volume 4 most people get the wrong idea since there is basically no world building and only the slice of life aspects, but if you can get past that it becomes one of the most executed fantasy novels I have read.

The main story starts off as Allen gets a job from his professor to tutor a certain dukes daughter who can’t use magic and tutor her personal maid ...

This has more of that feeling Drama Queen evokes, morbid actions and emotions played straight without leaning into a more overtly edgy method of story telling.

Emotional story telling seems to be a strong suit of Ichikawa’s, the amount of information gleaned from the change in the character’s facial expressions is incredible, some of the best expression work I’ve seen recently.

Art style is fun to look at, character expressions are top notch, and the girls are cute. My goodness are they cute. I can only hope the author will continue to draw women blushing. Nearly every expression in this is worthy of screenshotting and passing ...

I thought some of the others reviews had to have been exaggerating. I find a lot of series, particularly on sites like these, tend to either have wildly inflated scores or exactly the opposite. It's rare I come across one where the score seems appropriate and is exactly as I would judge it. The series is fine. Or, well, it's hard to say. If the first of two volumes is good. Interesting, entertaining, and so on, but the second has some of the most garbage, nonsensical, irritating, and otherwise annoying, infuriating, and aggravating writing I've ever had the displeasure of reading, then how exactly do ...

Light-hearted love story at the beginning, but gets deeper later, working on characters problems, fears.
I found it very enjoyable, our protagonist is sweet but also headstrong sometimes, but she's really focused in improving.
Our male lead is the serious-sweet kind of guy, he won't express everything with words all the time, but he'll show it throught his choices and actions.
Supporting cast is really fun and have their own stories going on. Their situations felt really real and even the characters themselves feel really realistic. Our protagonist overthinks a lot, but ends up noticing she's getting ahead of herself afterwards.

Their relationship is pretty healthy ...

The series has a lot of potential.
1. There are some great ideas inside this story. Using "looks are not important" as a meta narrative for the entire story was really brilliant.
2. The art is great and hard-carried this series. The villains of this series are basically drawn like elves and they were beautiful/hot.
3. I was crying during the emotional climax of this series. Across its runtime, it does accurately hit some high points with its twists or drama.

But the execution of the series really dragged it down.
1. lots of padding due to long inner monologues, repetitive dialogues/scenes, recaps of the lore, ...

This is unironicly a battle-manga about light novel authors, which is uninteresting.
The "spin" is to add a suggestive loli harem, with a hint of incest.

The reason this falls flat, is due to not committing. Suggestive tag with very little fanservice? Loli harem without any waver in the MCs conviction? Incest-adjacent with 0 in world consequenses? The end result is a bland battle manga, with underage girls gushing for the MC, who never makes a move on anyone.

I was struggling to read through these chapters. Not entertained at all. Go read Domestic Girlfriend or Kaguhara instead for some actual fun.

Mixed Feelings
These 31 chapters are the penultimate definition of the average 4/10 romcom.
It's arguably too short to really build a lasting investment in the characters, but this also means the mangaka don't have time for most of the regular tropes, liked the locked equipment room, the lost child, the aquarium date, under the teachers desk and so forth.
Nothing in this manga is surprising or unexpected.
Nothing is tackled in an unexpected way.
The characters are cute, well drawn and believeable, but doesn't get much time to shine.

This is romcom slob, but sometimes, that is exactly what you need.

This is tagged as erotica and the first couple of chapters goes decently hard on the spice. However, it soon becomes apparent, that this isn't actual erotica, but just a plain old suggestive, harem romcom. In the end it falls short on characters, premise and plot progression.

It avoids pushing boundaries like better mangas do (see: Domestic Girlfriend) and instead end up kinda disappointing. Audacious at first, but non-committed to its own degeneracy.

I did like the start though, so I would recommend people reading around 20-30 chapters? That level of spice is the only level you are gonna get. Go with Kaguhara if you want ...

This is tagged as erotica and is pretty spicy.
The art and backgrounds are decent.
The character archetypes and personalities are strong.
It does a great job with incorporating fetishes, both from popular tags, but also some more obscure tags, in a way that everyone can enjoy them.

Then why did I rate it as a 4/10? The story is so unbelieveably bad. Not in an audacious way like "Please Put Them On, Takamine-san." It is a constant immersion break. The story is unfinished, repetitive at some parts and revolves around pressing gemstones out ya dick. The imagined pain of that is so unpleasant, that the ...

Kuoji Miura's (Blue Box) only other non-oneshot serialization.

It is a 4 tankobon romcom, centered around an unremarkable young male teacher, who gets confessed to by two of his students. The teacher needs to come to terms with the stigma (apparently pretty easy) and then decide which of the girls he wants to spend his life with.

Both girls are sweet and likeable, but the teacher is pretty oof.
The art is inferior to Blue Box but still fine. The plot is passable and the ecchi is neither stupid nor too degenerate.

I wasn't terribly gripped by this manga and despite it being short and ...

The dialogue between the lead is great. The art is great.

It is however, very short. I feel like the manga doesn't cover the 15 light novels at all, because I am a little confused. The story presented here is cute, complete, a little weird and lowkey terrifying. But I feel like I am missing out on something pretty great due to the lenght. I didn't like the chapter "explaining" the puberty syndrome with quantum theory and I am missing the emotional impact that could have been landed with more chapters and volumes.

The concept of a girl slowly being erased is wild, cool and terrifying. ...

This manga is very wholesome, sweet, innocent and adorable.

It is weldrawn and almost episodic in nature. So embracing the slow plot progression.
I enjoyed reading this as the chemistry between Nishikata and Takagi is enjoyable and well established.

I cannot imagine reading this again, as it is just good vibes and nothing is challenging the reader. No drama, no "after the confession", no showdowns with friends or family and no real plot. But sometimes, wholesome slice of life is all that you need.

I recommend this, and I respect the manga for what it does. But I cannot imagine buying 20 tankobons of just you ...
Dec 14, 2024
This manga is misleading in its tags. It is actually a fairly mild romcom harem. In the first 30 chapters, every character outside of Nao-kun appears to be yandare, unhinged or unstable. Over the remaining 60 chapters, all this foreshadowing is resolved without much drama, spice or crazyness. All of the "Ohhh this can't be good" scenes turns out to be chill people having a mild backstory and some minor issue that got misunderstood.

It was engaging to read, well drawn and acceptable characters. 92 chapters felt like a good lenght. We do see "post-confession" relationship, which is positive.

I will never reread it and ...

This is less than 200 pages in total. It uses the format of tsuntsuntsun with most pages being the girl answering back, which is horrible format to tell a story.

If this had been made into an actual manga, either a slow burner like Oyasumi Punpun or a blazing dumpster fire like Henshin/Emergence/Metamorphosis/177013, then I would easily have given it an 8/10 or even higher.

The story itself dives into the struggles of not knowing how to help a struggling classmate that is clearling getting roughed up at home. The hopelessness of not understanding how the world of grown ups functions and the confusion as ...

First of all: This is extremely well drawn!

The characters are a little too flawless for my taste and their drawbacks stems from circumstances outside their own control. That being said, I like the main character, the losing heroine, the winning heroine, the senpais, the rivals and the wingman.

Blue Box shows actual relationship, which is a plus!

I felt a little bored around the 120-170 chapters, so I hope the mangaka still has some good ammo in the chamber, to finish this of without overstaying his welcome.

This might be romcom slob, but sometimes, that is all that you need <3

Hirayasumi is written by the same author of Nora to Zassou and I like the art style, backgrounds and wipes.

The manga revolves around people living in a district of Tokyo and we follow these characters as they interact with challenges and life in general. All the characters are likeable, defined and slightly flawed, while having personal ideologies that is praiseworthy.

The flow and pacing of the manga is super chill and lovely and although the manga doesn't really have a plot, it does tackle a lot of themes, that I believe the japanese society sometimes struggle with: workculture, romance, feelings of belonging, striving to ...

Nonsuggestive romcom harem slob, with plenty of misunderstandings to keep the plot moving a long.
The 3 girls are lovely, but the other sidecharacters aren't impressively written.

The main character struggles with self-loathing, but it is kinda unrelatable, because it's not based on him being fugly and having hurt others in any remarkable way, but instead having a resting bitch face and having given bad advice to a stranger once. He has the tropey traits of being a "chore god" as well as a wholesome and nice person. Real self-loathing is damaging to a degree, where you cannot be kind and wholesome, while doing chores ...

This manga is tagged as suggestive, but it is suprisingly spicy, which is great.

The premise is: Boy and girl in highschool gets visions when the other masturbates. Why? Because of local witches, that is why!

It starts like a predictable, tsundere romcom, with very little supernatural elements, but it get more in the later half, which introduces the twists of the story. It is short, evolves in a good way and despite a weirder second part, I liked it.

It might have been cut short by the publisher, as the first part was paced more gently, but it does finish in a satisfying manner.

It is still too early to decide on a final score for this.
Musubu does a lot of cool things: It is tagged as an ero-manga, but 79 chapters in, we haven't seen any actual sex. It is neither harem or lolicon, but instead a wholesome story about consenting adults catching feelings and developing their relationship. The relationship progression is nicely paced. Sagami and Musubu is acceptable as character and nicely drawn. The backgrounds, sidecharacter and drama is not really well developed.

If the spice is fire and it doesn't drag on, then I can see Musubu endning on a 6-7/10. But 5 or even ...

This manga has soooo many cool ideas! Great originality!!!

The start of the manga is very solid and engaging. Midway through the manga, the cohesiveness of the story begins to lower. And sadly, this manga had a very unfullfilling ending. The mangaka; Urasawa is the GOAT when it comes to setting up something unique and wild. But he is also notorious when it comes to failing to make his idea end in a satisfying way.

I would suggest reading Pluto or Monster over Billy Bat, as they has less vision, but better execution.

This manga is the weakest I have read from Inio Asano so far.

The art is insanely gorgous as always. The plot is greatly told and foreshadowed, but neither deep nor as twisted as the style (and author) would let you expect. Characters have too little time to shine, so its hard to actually get close to the cast. I would suggest reading Girl on the Shore before this, if Punpun is too daunting. Solanin is also a superior work imho from Asano. If you decide to go with Nijigahara Holograph, then I suggest you read it slowly and pay well attention to locations, interactions, ...

Too early to rate properly, but I have very high hope for Sasuga Kei's latest romcom.

It appears like she is trying to keep the spice and drama from Domestic Girlfriend, but avoid the problematic tags like incest. Everyone is of age and no one has family relations.

Harem is always hard to make good, but from the first 30 chapters all the character has depth, developement and issues. The girls are lovely and the male lead, although a little bland so far, seem competent enough.

I cannot wait for this to get finished in X years, so I can binge it and give it a ...

Yakuza romance with yandere boy. The plot, pacing, character, action, drama, drawings and yandere romance are all on point. The latest chapters even had some spice, which I am definitely here for. The long chapters makes the story very unpredictable. We are already seeing "post-confession" storyline, which is always exciting. If the spicy turns out to be good, the plot developes and the manga gets finished before it gets worn out, then this series will end on and 8 or even 9! If the spice is bland, the plot begins to crawl or the manga goes on forever, then it might retain the 7/10 I ...

The first time I read Oyasumi Punpun, I was close to 80 chapter before I realised that it would be a slow burning tragedy. I was too mentally ill and depressed to see the writting on the wall beforehand. That is part of the reason why I regard it sooo highly.

Yakedo Shoujo is way more agressively unhinged. I have seen people call it edgy and psychopatic online. I do not agree with that. Yakedo Shoujo displays flawed and realistic characters with very severe trauma. From the first chapter you know, that this will end badly.

Why only 7/10 then? Because the depth is lacking, due ...

Pros:
The art is gorgous! Absolutely beautiful. And the cast of characters even show some variety in bodytypes, which is extremely rare in manga and mahnwa.

Non-ecchi, non-harem romcom.
This is a very wholesome and enjoyable manga, about a chuuni boi and a positive foodie girl.
It starts a little slow, but after some repeated chapters establishing the library and the candy eating the manga takes a way better pace.
It does have many of the expected tropes (lost child, model agency and so forth) but not all of them.
It is also waaaay better paced than fx Komi and other slow burners.
The art is great and the sidecharacters aren't bad at all. Male protaganist isn't as useless/dense as we are used to, but not a chad either.

Milgram is a mixed-media project, focused on storytelling through songs. The main story of Milgram features 10 characters, who are judged for crime by Es, the audience surrogate. Each having committed murder, their crimes and character motivations are carefully weaved within specially-written character songs. This manga, on the other hand, is an adaptation of the first Milgram novel, which is a side story with the same premise but a different and smaller cast of characters. Naturally, it takes a much more straightforward approach to the story, lacking the songs and side content that defines the Milgram project as a whole. As such, where does this ...

Since my discovery of the Cthulhu Mythos, I have been drawn into the fathomless abysses where unspeakable horrors, born of Lovecraft's visions, reign. The tale I speak of today is no mere reading; it is a descent without return, a silent collapse into the chasm of cosmic indifference.

Where other works merely brush against unease, this one has torn me from every comforting illusion. I stood powerless as I contemplated the total insignificance of our existence before ancient, unfathomable, immutable truths. Every page whispered that everything humanity cherishes—its ambitions, its knowledge, its fleeting glories—is but dust scattered at the faintest breath of the cosmos. What, then, ...

Wistoria is one of those stories where you like it or you don’t like it. Like many others have said, it’s pretty cliche but I personally give everything I read the benefit of the doubt of stories that are still early in their story for a judgement. Black Clover had the same issues with many people but if you see Black Clover then and what it’s now, you’ll see how much better it is now. I believe Wistoria will have the same effect. Though the plot may be slow, the build up of the story lately makes me confident of the story with hints of ...

Perhaps one of the most modern manga of sorts with a look at how two adults fell in love as neighbors during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Home Office Romance is a very short but sweet and wholesome story of an exhausted office worker finding love and fulfillment during a tumultuous time period. It's good to read a rom-com that focuses on two adults who are forward in their feelings, have decent chemistry and dispense of the usual cliche nonsense. The main characters are likable and it's interesting to see a concept which hasn't been really too explored yet in media.

If your looking for a quick and cute summer read this is it.
I loved this manhwa so much, even with all of its problems. I just can't get enough of how cute Yeonwoo and Tae-hoon are. Like I can forgive all the faults for these two. Not to mention how mature Yeonwoo is, like I literally think this man has me beat in emotional maturity. Which is so uncommon in story's like these, which involve a lot of drama.

It's not a masterpiece, but it will stick with you for certain. The cast and the power sets are very diverse and frequently interesting. There is a bit of conflict between the fact that there are a metric ton of interesting characters with intriguing story hooks and the fact that it would be impossible to fully develop all of them. Depending on who you are this might create the feeling of a massive world that we're only barely tapping into which leaves the rest for you to wonder (and maybe read/make fan works) about, or you may be frustrated that character development is spread too ...

Ima keep it for real out here. The plot in this thing is thinner than the vast majority of hentai. The plot is plain nonsensical and while it (kinda) fits in with the world of the show it's still just downright strange. The characters don't have any real depth to them and insofar as I can tell there isn't any real development throughout the story. This isn't worth reading unless you just need a hit of Super Sonico for some reason.

One of the worst manga I've read. The manga epitomizes the worst aspects of manga romance stories. Boring spineless main character with no personality that exists as barely more than a point of view character. Love triangle that goes nowhere. The boring normal childhood friend that loves the main character but struggles to make her feelings known. The sexy exciting "gyaru" popular girl that is conflicted because she kind of likes the main character but does not want to admit it.

None of these tropes are done particularly well or in a unique way. If you've seen this stuff before you know what to ...

Would recommend to any fans of the genre. Good read with many chapters.

Pretty good generic action manwha. Reminiscent of Solo Leveling with game system, storyline and minion-type ability. Cloning ability is used creatively, beyond just battle usage, and the cloning power itself is thought out and "balanced." Art style stays solid throughout the series and story builds well, somewhat complex in recent chapters. Side characters have good nuance (besides LI), and most antagonists are well thought out and have histories. Some character reactions are kinda cheesy, like the LI's reactions to MC, or the MC's braindead-ness in certain situations. The MC's ability to be serious ...

If you enjoy supernatural stories, especially those rooted in urban legends and myths, this love story will likely captivate you. The depth with which the author explores folklore adds an exciting layer of drama and mystery, keeping you engaged. The way the plot unfolds is both satisfying and heartwarming, always developing around the personalities of the characters, who are not only unique but also well-developed.

My only reservation is in how the characters express their feelings. I felt there could have been more honest, vulnerable moments where the characters openly discuss their emotions. Some interactions felt a bit restrained, and I would have loved to see ...

This was a good experience. If you like simple romcoms, without all the drama, confusion and never ending problems; Then, this is for you! Don’t get me wrong, this manga has a little bit of all that, but it’s never abused nor gets repetitive. The characters are good, the mc is original (he is not a Kirito clone, average loner, freak, etc…), and there isn’t a single bad character. As of chapter 46, this is definitely a shoujo manga. If you read something of this genre and want to read more, go for it.
I could describe the characters and the history but it's irrelevant, as I sincerely think that just knowing it's a shoujo manga it's enough to describe it (for the good and the bad). This also goes for the art, specially character designs.

Character inconsistency is one of the biggest and most common flaws present int he light novels that I end up reading (unlucky? bad taste? who knows), and this one is no exception.

It usually goes like this: at some points at the beginning of the novel the main character self evaluates themself and their claim (that can usually be summed up to an adjective like "smart") is further reinforced by the author, be it in describing a particular action they are taking at the moment, or the narrator's voice actually approving of that claim.
Maybe putting in simpler terms, some characterization is made about the main character ...

The ol hardboiled private eye male fantasy where protagonist smokes like a chimney, fucks like a champ, punches like a brute, sports coats like Columbo, overcomes drug addictions and is cool as cat in the face of the city's never-ending supply of crooks and inept police force. Paris serves as an awesome background for this manga, with scene-setting panels really capturing the Parisian flair and sprawl. I expected this to be a mystery thriller manga, that made you brainstorm but non of my expectations were met, it was not that at all, instead it was a poor love story that was presented as mystery.I found the conductive ivy storyline bunch of bullshit and the mystery of the 11th man also turned out be the lamest, most mediocre writing. It comes a bit late in the series, but this manga has one of the most intense, most accurate depictions of an "evil dragon" in any piece of fantasy I've come across. The build up to this reveal and the ensuing battle is so good, it's well worth reading through the whole story just for that part alone.

Thankfully, the rest of the story is also very good, and it does a superb job of building on itself over time. The manga does a good job of building up other characters besides the protagonist. Their actions and motivations are believable, and that makes the whole story ...
