City of Las Vegas hosting two-day hiring fair for Safekey positions

The city of Las Vegas is looking to fill various positions within some of its programs during a summer hiring event.

The event will be heldTuesday and Wednesday, June 20/21,from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at833 Las Vegas Boulevard North.

Hiring managers will be on-site, hiring forhourly positions in its Safekey and ReInvent programs.

The Safekey and ReInvent before and after school programs offer recreation and academic enrichment at 70 Clark County School District elementary schools within the city of Las Vegas.

During that time, children in kindergarten through fifth grade have the chance towork on homework, participate in extended academic opportunities, have a nutritious afternoon snack, and engage in fun recreational activities.

Positions average 19-25 hours per week with a pay range of $14-$25 per hour.These programs are offered on days that the Clark County School District holds classes.

Positions available include:

  • Safekey/ReInvent After-School Program Site Assistant
  • Safekey/ ReInvent After-School Program Site Leader
  • Safekey/ ReInvent After-School Program Behavior Specialist & Site Lead Trainer

Some additional requirements include:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • First-Aid and CPR certification at time of hire/reclassification.
  • Maintain the physical agility necessary to demonstrate and maintain sports and other recreational games and activities, move and maintain equipment, and other physical activities as needed to provide the safety, welfare, and security necessary.
  • Experience using technology such as iPad, printer, cell phone, and internet-based applications.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or high school equivalency credential, experience working with children in a group setting, and communication skills in more than one language.

Those attending should bring resumes andbe prepared for on-the-spot interviews. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance registration is encouraged.
