De Serie A 1948/49 was het 46ste voetbalkampioenschap (Scudetto) in Italië en het achttiende seizoen van de Serie A. Torino werd op 6 mei 1949 voor de vijfde opeenvolgende keer kampioen na de Superga-vliegramp.

Omdat bijna het hele team van Torino (Il Grande Torino) bij die ramp omkwam werd in de laatste wedstrijden van het seizoen hun jeugdteam ingezet, samen met de twee overgebleven spelers van het hoofdteam. De vier resterende tegenstanders hadden ook hun jeugdteam ingezet uit respect.^[1]
