A trouver parchment is a consumable scroll, purchased from Justine's stuff for the Last Shopper Standing for 18 Last Man Standing points or obtained as a drop from killing monsters in the Wilderness Slayer Cave.

The parchment is used to "lock" and keep untradeable items if killed in PvP combat. Players will need to give the parchment and pay 500,000 to Perdu for each item they lock; multiple items can be locked simultaneously, but will require additional parchments for each one.

At current prices, it costs 1,154,409 to purchase a parchment from the Grand Exchange and pay Perdu to use it on an item.

Use[edit | edit source]

Activating[edit | edit source]

Giving certain untradeable items and a trouver parchment to Perdu will lock the item to the player, giving the item an additional (l) suffix in its name (for example, "Fire cape (l)"). Once an item is locked, the parchment will ensure the locked item is kept in its unbroken state upon dying a player versus player death, even if that item would otherwise be destroyed (for example, when experiencing a player versus player death above level 20 Wilderness).

If the player experiences a player versus monster death, the locked status will be retained and the locked item will be kept in its unbroken state.

Unlike other items, Perdu will only charge 50,000 coins to lock bronze to adamant defenders.

Dying with a locked item[edit | edit source]

If a player is killed in a player versus player death and a locked item is not protected, the lost locked item will lose its locked status. This applies if the player experiences any PvP death, regardless of if it occurs at or below level 20 Wilderness or in a PvP World. When the locked status is removed, the parchment is deleted. If a player is killed in a player versus player death and a locked item is protected, the lost locked item will not lose its locked status. It should be noted that the Trouver parchment does not protect runes stored within a Rune pouch upon a player versus player death.

The killer will receive the locking fee (that is, the amount paid to Perdu), but not the item or the Trouver parchment itself.

If a locked item is removed from the game (such as from a player dropping an item in an instance and leaving), the item will still retain its locked status when it is re-obtained.

Removing a lock[edit | edit source]

Players also can remove the lock status on an item by using it on Perdu, in which he will return the Trouver parchment as well as 95% of the locking fee.

Upgrading a locked item[edit | edit source]

Some lockable items are also upgradeable, such as the rune pouch to the divine rune pouch. If an upgradeable item is locked, the lock must be removed before the item can be upgraded.

    • If the item is not locked, upon PvP death the PKer will receive gold equivalent to the value of the item (minus the value of the Ornament Kit) and the Ornament Kit. Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Trouver ("to find"), along with Perdu, whose name means "lost" in French, are plays on the phrase "lost and found."
