In addition to 78,000 square feet of retail, the site includes 269 units of new luxury housing directly accessible to the Berlin Turnpike.
"Anchored by the national grocer, the property will deliver several highly desirable retail and restaurant concepts to the area and create a dynamic shopping and dining experience," wrote GDG Thursday.
“Meadow Commons is a reflection of our overall strategy to focus on experiential and essential retail, curating the best of local dining and services with coveted national brands in a grocery-anchored setting,” said Jeremy Grossman, principal of Grossman Development Group.
“This is a prime site combining new housing with fresh retail concepts to create synergies and a fantastic consumer experience.”
Meadow Commons is 15 minutes from downtown Hartford via the Berlin Turnpike and eight minutes from Interstate 91.
GDG said the site is strategically positioned property and "is creating a destination for the town of Newington and surrounding communities, adding jobs and in-demand resources."
The housing, under development by Criterion Development, will feature a fitness center, indoor garden, and clubhouse.
The first retail units are expected to open late summer of 2023.
