Hinsdale Cops Chase Thieves Out Of Town

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police say they have chased drivers of stolen cars out of town a half dozen times at night in the last several weeks.

In a statement Tuesday, police said attempts to steal cars in local driveways have slowed recently.

The police released a photo from a residential camera showing someone apparently trying to steal cars shortly before midnight Dec. 29 in the 600 block of Bruner Street.

Police asked residents to continue being vigilant by locking their car doors and removing their key fobs.

In mid-December, a Jaguar sedan was stolen in the 500 block of North Garfield Street, near The Lane, Hinsdale police said.

The car was unlocked with the key fob inside, police said.

The car was then used in a number of burglaries in nearby towns, police said.
