ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A new trial date has been set for James and Jennifer Crumbley, who were each charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection to the deadly Oxford school shooting.

The couple's trial is expected to begin in Oakland County on Jan. 17, 2023. Their trial was originally supposed to start in October, but was postponed to allow a judge to hear arguments on the admissibility of witness testimony during their trial.

The couple will be back in court for that hearing, which is expected to happen inside an Oakland County courtroom on Friday. If convicted of the involuntary manslaughter charges, the parents face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $7,500 on each count.

The new date comes after the couple's son, Ethan Crumbley, pleaded guilty Monday to killing four students and wounding seven other people at Oxford High School on Nov. 30.

Crumbley, 16, pleaded guilty to four counts of murder, one count of terrorism, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

During his guilty plea, Crumbley told the court he gave his father money to buy him the gun prosecutors said he ultimately used to gun down Madisyn Baldwin, Tate Myre, Hana St. Juliana and Justin Shilling and injure seven others.
