MN Star Student: Emma, A Pioneer And Volunteer
Patch is working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

ROSEMOUNT, MN — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Marissa who nominated Emma of the Apple Valley-Rosemount area. Know an outstanding student? Nominate them here.

Emma.
Star local student’s home state
Minnesota.
How do you know the star local student?
Daughter.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Emma started middle school in the fall, and she has been incredibly resilient. She has maintained straight As, and has been commended for her amazing attitude and commitment towards school.
In addition to these terrific grades, Emma is a beautiful dancer at Betty Jo’s Dance Center here in Apple Valley. She is also a pioneer in scouting, as she was part of the inaugural girls’ troop for Scouts BSA.
Through scouting she has done amazing things in the wilderness, and she gives back to the community.
But beyond the list of skills and achievements, Emma has heart. She is so giving of herself. During her flex periods at school, Emma volunteers to spend her time with the children in the special needs classrooms. She plays games with them, reads, colors - really any activity they want to do! And they love her so much!
While she is only eleven now, I know the world will see amazing things from her in the future.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
She is extremely talented with a huge heart.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Emma!
