BODY20 Brings New Concept In Strength Training To Newtown
The new fitness boutique packs results into a 20-minute, tech-driven workout experience without the the need for weights.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — When Jenn Pellegrino opened BODY20 in October at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center it was a dream come true. She had brought a brand new strength training concept to southeastern Pennsylvania and was eager to share its benefits with the community.
A month later on Black Friday, her dream nearly came crashing down when a car jumped the curb, slammed through an outside support post, and came within feet of crashing into her business.
While she wasn’t there when it happened, an in-store video caught the whole thing as the car slammed into the facade of the shopping center sending debris flying through the air.

Due to a damaged support post just feet from her door, the shopping center’s structural engineers shut down her front entrance and lobby for safety reasons requiring that the public enter the store from a rear entrance.
In an instant, she had lost her pedestrian foot traffic, her visibility, and her front lobby. For a brand new business trying to build its membership, it was another obstacle to overcome.

But Pellegrino received some good news just before Christmas when the shopping center cleared her to reopen her front entrance. She’s now back in full operation, located between Dogs & Cats Rule and Oishi.
“Don’t be discouraged by the construction. Our front door is open and we are back in regular operation,” said Pellegrino. “Whether you’re looking to lose weight, to grow muscle, or to increase cardio in the new year, we have something for everyone and it’s all customizable.”
BODY20 provides its members with personalized, 1-on-1 strength training in just 20 minutes, packing results into a tech-driven workout experience.

The boutique fitness studio utilizes an FDA-cleared electro-muscle stimulation (EMS) suit that’s worn by members throughout the workout. The suits are equipped with electrodes that deliver electrical impulses to the muscles, creating deep contractions while Body20 certified coaches guide members through personalized exercises tailored to their fitness level.
“In just a 20-minute training session, your coach will put you through a customized 1-on-1 program, giving your body over 150 times more muscle contractions than a conventional workout without the need for traditional gym equipment,” said Pellegrino.
“A Body20 workout is designed to build strength faster with no heavy weights required,” said Pellegrino. “The low-impact technology is easy on your joints and tendons, making BODY20 ideal for all ages and fitness levels.”
The Body20 concept has been around for a long time in Germany, South Africa and Australia, but is relatively new to the United States.
The Texas-based fitness boutique has more than 50 locations around the nation including Sea Girt and Marlton in New Jersey and a location in Pittsburgh. The Newtown Body20 is the only boutique in eastern and southeastern Pennsylvania.
The benefits of a Body20 workout include improving posture, reducing lower back pain, building strength and burning calories.
