LORTON, VA — Authorities have identified the driver of a 2013 BMW 650I who was killed when he was thrown from his convertible and struck by another vehicle on northbound Interstate 955 near Lorton.

The crash happened Monday afternoon at the 163 mile-marker as the two vehicles were northbound at a high rate of speed, officials said in a news release. As Buckner changed lanes, the car struck a 2020 Mercedes E-Class, which was not speeding.

The Mercedes hit the guardrail, and the BMW struck the jersey wall, and Buckner was ejected and hit by the Mercedes.
