අයර්ලන්ත පද්‍ය
අයර්ලන්ත පද්‍යයේ ඉතිහාසයට භාෂා දෙකක පද්‍යයන් ඇතුළත් වෙයි. එකක් අයර්ලන්ත භාෂාව වන අතර අනෙක ඉංග්‍රීසි භාෂාව වෙයි. මෙම සම්ප්‍රදායන් දෙක අතර ඇති සංකිර්ණ අන්තර් ක්‍රියාව හා ඒ දෙක හා අනෙකුත් ඉංග්‍රීසි පද්‍යයන් අතර ඇති අන්තර් ක්‍රියාව විවිධත්වයෙන් පොහොසත් වර්ගීකරණය කිරීමට අපහසු නිර්මාණ ව්‍යුහයක් තනා ඇත.
අයර්ලන්තයේ ඉතිරී වී ඇති මුල්කාලීනම පද්‍යයන් 6 වැනි සියවස දක්වා දිවෙන අතර අයර්ලන්තයේ ඉංග්‍රීසි භාෂාවෙන් වු පද්‍යයන් 14 වැනි සියවස දක්වා දිවෙයි. මෙම භාෂා සම්ප්‍රදායන් දෙක අතර එකිනෙක හුවමාරු වෙමින් පොහොසත් වීම නිරන්තරයෙන් සිදු වු නමුත් 19 වැනි සියවස තෙක් අයර්ලන්ත තේමා හා ආකෘති උකහා ගත් ඉංග්‍රීසි භාෂා පද්‍යයක් බිහිවී නොතිබුණි. මෙය 19 වැනි සියවසේ අවසානයේ හා 20 වැනි සියවසේ ආරම්භයේ වු කෙල්ටික් පුනරුදයේ කවීන්ගේ නිර්මාණවලදී මුදුන් පත් වී තිබුණි.
ශත වර්ෂයේ අවසාන වසර 25 දී නූතන අයර්ලන්ත පද්‍ය සාහිත්‍ය විශාල පරාසයක විවිධත්වයකට නැඹුරු වීමට ප්‍රයත්න දැරීය. එනම් උතුරු පාසැලේ පද්‍ය කරුවන්ගේ සිට නූතන සම්ප්‍රදායන් හා ක්‍රමයෙන් වර්ධනය වන නාගරික හා සර්ව භෞම සමාජ තුළින් හට ගැනෙන නව ගැටලුවලට මුහුණ දීමේ බලපෑමට ලක්ව ලේඛකයන් දක්වා එය පරාස ගත වේ.
