Dennis Taylor

Dennis Taylor (born 19 January 1949) is a Northern Irish retired professional snooker player and current commentator. He won the World Snooker Championship in 1985. He was behind 0–7 in the final, but later won 18–17. The 1985 World Snooker Championship final is one of the most famous snooker matches ever played.[1] The match finished on the final ball. Taylor was also a runner-up at the World Snooker Championship in 1979, where he lost to 16–24 to Terry Griffiths.
Taylor also won one more ranking event, the 1984 Grand Prix. Three years later, he also won the 1987 Masters. His highest ranking was second in the world. He competed professionally until 2000, and played as a senior until he was 72 in 2021.
