[change | change source]On Feburary 2, 2019, the Lucha Brothers faced The Young Bucks in a match on the independent circuit. After the match The Bucks offered the Lucha Brothers a contract to join All Elite Wrestling (AEW). They would end up signing non-exclusive contracts because they were also signed to Lucha Underground at the time.[1]
At Double Or Nothing, the Lucha Brothers would make their AEW in-ring debut. They would lose the AAA World Tag Team Championships to the Young Bucks.[2] At AAA's Verano de Escándalo, they would win the titles back.[3] They would enter a tournament to crown the first AEW World Tag Team Champions but they lost in the finals to SoCal Uncensored.[4]
On the March 4, 2020 episode of Dynamite, Fenix and Pentagón Jr. would attack Orange Cassidy and Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) and join Pac to create a stable called Death Triangle.[5]
The Lucha Brothers would enter a number one contender tournament for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. This was Fénix's first championship in AEW.[7] Both Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez said that their match was the best cage match that they had ever seen, and that it was one of the best AEW matches in the company's history. Meltzer would rate the match 5.75 stars.[8] They would lose the AAA World Tag Team Championships to FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) on the October 16, 2021 episode of Dynamite and they would lose the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Jurassic Express on January 5, 2022 episode of Dynamite.[9][10]
