Jim Jefferies (comedian)

Geoff James Nugent[1] (born 14 February 1977), better known as Jim Jefferies, is an Australian stand-up comedian, actor and writer. He is well known in the United Kingdom and the United States. He also has a number of Netflix specials. In 2017, he began starring in the Comedy Central talk show The Jim Jefferies Show.

Early life

Jefferies was born in February 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.[2] His father was a cabinet maker and maintenance worker,[3] his mother was a teacher. He moved to Perth to study musical theatre and classical music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. James began his career in stand-up comedy several months before completing his degree.[4] He relocated to Sydney and then to the UK.

He has two older brothers: Scott, an investment banker, and Daniel, an inspector in the New South Wales Police Force's Public Order and Riot Squad.

He has a son, Hank, with actress Kate Luyben.[5]
