Pramila Jayapal (/prəˈmɪlə ˈdʒaɪəpɑːl/; born September 21, 1965) is an American politician and activist.[1] She is the U.S. Representative (D-WA) from Washington's 7th congressional district since 2017.[1] She is a member of the Democratic Party, and the first Indian-American woman to serve in the House of Representatives.[2] She is the author of Use the Power You Have: A Brown Woman's Guide to Politics and Political Change[3]. She wrote many bills.[1]
