2013 BAM CAL

I know it's been awhile since I last posted. I have been making crafts, however not as much as I would have liked. I kind of took a much needed break. I've been slowly working on a few projects. The main project is a Block-A-Month CAL. This group on ravelry offers 3 blocks per month. Two - 12" squares and one - 6" square. I have been making the 6" square into a 12" square so that there are three blocks per month. I figured out, that after 12 months, I will have an afghan big enough to cover a king size bed.

You can view all of my projects here @ Ravelry if you're intersted.

I'm still a month behind, due to my lack of ambition to craft. But here is what i've completed so far.

CAL: Crochet-Along

The crochet along group on ravelry has decided to start up a new CAL! This one is going to be a much quicker one than the throw, but longer than a mini project. It's the Check Stitch Scarf!

Is anyone interested??

A deadline hasn't been decided yet. I like to have things finish up at the end of a month, but i'm unsure if the end of December would be too soon, especially with the holidays. What do you think?

I'm going to start it up right away! It think it might be a nice gift for a friend if I can complete it in time.

Crochet Along

I've been working hard on my CAL project. And this past week, I've been trying to figure out what went wrong with it. It's all messed up, and twisted and I do not like it at all!

Both ends are so off, it isn't funny. I tried to fix it, but nothing works. So. I hate to say this, but i'm throwing in the towel!! It didn't sound like many people were actually doing this project anyways. I don't think any followers, and maybe only a small handful on ravelry. On November 30th I'll still showcase anyone who has finished this project, but mine will not be on there. I am so not happy with it at all. I'm going to unravel the yarn and make granny squares.

Is anyone else working on this project? What do you think so far? Has anyone run into this problem as well?

You can always check in on the ravelry page as well!

Crochet Along Mini

I cannot believe it's been 9 days since I last posted, and 9 days since the beginning of our Mini Crochet Along started!

I'm very happy to have gotten a few people who made this project! I think the Tic-Tac-Toe Dishcloth is super cute and I hope those who made it enjoy it!

Here's is my version of the dishcloth:

I love the pinks in Debi Y's version! As well as how she weaved in the long strips.

JulieWine from my ravelry group made a very beautiful version as well, and she too weaved in her long strips differently than mine. I think it looks very creative this way!

Thank you all for the help and feedback with my pattern! Like I had said, it is a modified version of the pattern and I did my best to alter it to best fit what I made. I kind of hurried through the alterations of the pattern, so I did make some errors, and I appreciate everyone who offered the feedback. I'm sorry for any frustrations I may have caused.

Crochet Along Mini

This Crochet Along is a mini one, because this is a very quick and easy project! It's a simple dishcloth!

This dishcloth is a modified version of Ocean Weave Crochet Dishcloth. A friend had made this, and it ended up looking more like a placemat than a dishcloth! She sent me the link and I knew I had to modify it to make it smaller. I am nicknaming my version Tic Tac Toe Dishcloth. :) It's about 9.5" by 8".

So this is our crochet along for the moment! You can check out the pattern for it here.

I'll check to see how everyone is doing in a week, and then i'll make a reveal post on the 30th of September!

Have fun everyone!! Don't forget to join the ravelry group if you're on there! I have a discussion going for the mini CAL and the regular one!

Crochet Along - Let's Begin!

Welcome to my very first crochet along! I am very excited as this is my very first CAL ever, that is hosting or participating. Are you nervous yet? Maybe after you hear what the project is...

I originally was thinking something small, something very small. A dishcloth to be more exact. Something I watched someone whip up in 30 minutes. {Which I decided to start a mini-crochet-along as well} Then, as I started searching around on pinterest, oh yes pinterest, I found a beautiful throw! Throw measures approximately 38" wide x 50" long and will use approx. 2004 yards of yarn. I know, this is not small at all! What am I thinking? To be honest, i'm thinking I needed an extra throw for a Christmas gift for my niece.

So what do you think? Are you up for the task? Well, maybe after you see what the throw looks like you might change your mind. For good, or worse.

It is called Earthbound Throw and it is by Bernat.

The pattern can be found through either link. However, I also made a printable version of the pattern that is 4 pages long. You can grab that PDF here.

A hefty CAL isn't it? I just think it's absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to see all of the different color combinations for this!

There are 5 sections of this blanket, let's make a time frame of 2 weeks per section, plus one week to gather supplies. So let's say November 30th (for now) is the current deadline to finish the throw! That's perfect timing for Christmas! Of course, the time frame is not set in stone, so don't freak out on me!

Please leave any questions or feedback in the comments here and I'll get back with you! For all of you on Ravelry, I have also started a group there for easier communication!

Let's get going!!

CAL?

I've always wanted to join in on a Crochet Along... but I can never seem to find one when they are first starting off.

So, I know I don't have many followers, but if I started one, who would be interested?

I'm not sure what the project would be, something small.

So either comment with if you are interested, or comment if you know of a CAL just starting up. Thanks!!
