See, this is why game preservation is important.
This game is defunct.
Do note the game no longer works at all without modifications. This is most likely due to the game's servers being shut down. As a result, further official developments with the game are unlikely to happen.
Hmmm...
To do:
Revisional differences?

BS Super Mario Collection was a four-chapter Satellaview version of Super Mario Collection. Week 1 was an adaptation of Super Mario Bros. with an overworld system, Weeks 2-3 were based on Super Mario Bros. 3, and Week 4 was based on the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, but otherwise the same as Week 1.

This page covers the only week known to exist today, Week 3, which was later discovered to contain Week 2's data as well. A patch to partially restore the latter can be found here.

Unused Music

With the exception of the death jingle, the "course clear" fanfare, and a few other songs such as the invincibility theme, most of the SPC music was deleted in order to play Soundlink streamed audio. Setting ROM address 82E9BA42 82E9B8?? to 01-18 will play any of the remaining tracks from the Super Mario All-Stars version.

Hex Track Audio
04 Mushroom House
15 Title Screen
16 Battle Mode

Items

A few items from Super Mario Bros. 3 are still present, but for some reason no longer function properly. Pro Action Replay (PAR) code 7E1D80?? (where "??" is one of the below) will replace the first item in your inventory with the specified item:

  • Anchor (0A) - Crashes the game when used.
  • Hammer (0B) - Crashes the game when used.
  • Warp Whistle (0C) - Data for World 9 was removed, so it will crash the game if you use it.
  • Music Box (0D) - Does nothing. Attempting to use it will play the same error sound that is used for when you try to use the Hammer without being close to a breakable rock in the regular SMB3.

Debugging Features

Pro Action Replay code 7E016080 will enable debugging features as in the SNES version of SMB3, which originated from the NES original. Press Select to cycle through Mario's various forms, or hold Select and press A, B, X, or Y to toggle Goomba's Shoe.

Unused Graphics

Hmmm...
To do:
There seems to be more leftovers from the original game.

Present at offset 0xC4000 is what seems to be a proper title screen of Super Mario Bros. 3 and the battle mode of it. More graphics of battle mode can be found in the end of the ROM.

Also scattered around the ROM are some graphics for Luigi, who is otherwise absent.

Oddities

Holding Start will force start the game without the introduction cutscenes.
