Autobots, transform and roll out!

It has been suggested this article should be moved to Electro-disruptor.
If you agree or disagree, please discuss why on its talk page.

Reason: This is how it's spelled in Bob Budiansky's original Universe profile, and that's the correct spelling for the real word; the spelling in the comic is a typo.

An electro-disrupter (also electro-disruptor) is a fairly uncommon Transformer device that can be used for a variety of effects. Most commonly, it sends out disruptive signals to make the Transformer equipped with the electro-disrupter appear someplace other than they are, possibly multiple locations. Furthermore, it can cause illusions to appear around the user's body, seemingly altering their physical appearance for a limited time, or even enabling the user to fade into the background, effectively turning invisible.

The Autobot Mirage is equipped with such a device, as is the Decepticon Full-Tilt.

It's that silver thing he's holding.
Although not immediately obvious on the toy, the bio accompanying Mirage's Tech Specs points out that he is equipped with an electro-disrupter somewhere about his person.
  • Good Bye Convoy (Multipack, 1986)
Mirage ("Ligier" in Japan) was reissued in this box set, presumably along with his electro-disrupter, whichever part of him it is.
  • Trypticon (Decepticon City, 1986/1987)
According to Trypticon's instructions, Full-Tilt was equipped with an electro-disruptor.

Beast Wars

This version of Blackarachnia was equipped with an "electro disrupter housed in her rear segment", according to the bio on her box. It works for 5 minutes, which is one less than Mirage.
  • Nightglider (Basic Transmetal 2, 1999)
According to his packaging bio, Nightglider's electro-disruptor can cast illusions, altering his appearance or apparent location for up to 10 minutes. Take that, Mirage.

Classics

  • Mirage (Deluxe Class, 2006)
    • Accessories: electro-disruptor weapon/front spoiler
As called out in the bio on the back of his card, Classics Mirage carries a "specialized electro-disruptor weapon". This functionality may or may not have carried over to the repaints and redecos of this mold.
