Fifteen-year-old Tina-Marie has always wanted to learn to roller-skate. So, she laces up and goes for a whirl at United Skates of America.

As we all know, it's harder than it looks. But Tina-Marie shows determination. She never gives up and she never stops smiling,

A few times around with managers Arianna and Leightin and she finds her balance.

Her DCYF social worker, Maria Mansfield, said Tina-Marie is full of energy and needs a special family to adopt her.

"She has some cognitive delays, but if they're patient and willing to work with her, it will be great," Mansfield said.

In addition to parents, Tina-Marie knows exactly what she wants in a family.

"Sister and brothers," she said. "Animals."

In return, Tina-Marie will bring a little ray of sunshine into an adoptive home.

The number for Adoption Rhode Island is 401-865-6000.
