Nope. It is not.

I guess I’ll just give it away: I think Cater MIGHT have some form of depression. This stems from the fact that, throughout the game, we get a lot of hints that - underneath that cheery, jargon-spewing, Internet-junkie facade - Cater has a LOT of things he deliberately tries to keep hidden. Not so much a dark side, so much as a side he just genuinely doesn’t want people to see. The most telling to me was a Vignette where its hinted he puts on this happy-go-lucky demeanor to hide the fact he’s actually got a lot of repressed anger and sadness under the surface. The nervous way he responds to that tells me there’s definitely something there.

Coming from experience…a lot of times, that’s how depression can be. A person can seem totally fine on the outside, but under the surface there’s something just constantly gnawing away at them. They can be cheerful, sweet, funny people, just a bundle of joy and excitement…but then they’ll dip down into some dark, sad, angry places.

It’s the old motif of the sad clown given real existence. Someone once made that observation to me, and I think it’s true.

Now, again, this isn’t necessarily a headcanon I want to play with a lot, or something I’m super eager to explore or even talk about. It’s just a thought that I have about the guy.

God of Gas / Belch King / Burp Factory / Ye Olde Gasbag / No Thanks / Who?

Cater takes the lowest rank for two reasons: first of all, because he’s yet again another character I don’t really have a major crush on. In fact, Cater is my least favorite character in the game. I should stress that I don’t hate the guy - I don’t hate any of the TW bois, and Cater can be a lot of fun - but I just don’t find him as interesting as a lot of the others. So, yeah, those facts lower his rank by default.

Second of all…I actually DO imagine Cater can be a bit burpy, from time to time, but I don’t see him being as loud and proud about it as, say, Ace or even Kalim. I also don’t see him as being as domineering in his way of using it as some other characters. In my mind, Cater and Trey are the two “big brother figures” of NRC. Trey is the supportive, encouraging, grounded big bro who abides by the rules and tries to keep things mellow, but also can be strict or even a bit mischievous from time to time. Cater is the “cool big bro” who really loves to play with his siblings and have a big, grand ol’ time, but can also be protective and helpful.

So, in short…Cater I see as being someone who might participate in belch contests - maybe even record some dumb short videos to post on his Magicam, with tons of kinky hashtags - but he’s not likely to win and is equally unlikely to instigate them. I actually see Cater as having a few kinks himself, but doesn’t like to reveal it.

Don’t judge him, the poor darling. You know you have them, too, if you’re reading this. :P

Cater is one of my least favorite characters in the game, and I have really no interest in him at all on the upper part of the scale, nor am I entirely sure I would want to write something with him using his butt in such a fashion. However, if he knows somebody who has certain kinks, he might tease them verbally from time to time. ;)

As for Cater being sat upon himself…provided the situation is macro/micro…

(imagines a shrunken Cater staring up at a hovering, massive, wide, fat booty about to drop down on him…and lifting up a shrunken cell phone to take a picture of that…right before the ass SLAMS down on top of him)

So, first of all, have I mentioned I really don’t like how the prey categories for this ranking (I didn’t come up with this) are organized? XD It’s honestly really hard to figured out where characters go there, at least for me. The pred area only has five categories, much easier to sort out.

ANYWAY…as far as being a pred goes, I just don’t really see Cater in that role at all, personally. The only way I can imagine that happening is an unaware situation, which would end in Cater either getting VERY grossed out or immediately deciding Magicam time has come. Because, hey, how often do you end up with a tiny shrunken Riddle in your stomach because Che'Nya decided to drop him in some ramen as a prank? ;) But yeah, aside from something like that, not really my type at all, and even with something like that, I’d only write it for a trade or a commission.

I do, however, think Cater would work much better as a prey character. On that note, for you in the stuffing crowd, the same applies to that aspect: I see Cater more as feeder than feedee material. I can see him as the type who loves taking pictures of really good food, especially when he’s made it himself (not sure if he does that in the game, to my memory, but if he did, I would not be surprised), and since he’s taken the Culinary Crucible, it’s fair to say he has at least some experience as a chef.

I also kind of headcanon Cater might be a closeted kink-lover like ourselves, but on the more submissive side of the spectrum. So if somebody swallows him, he’ll be the type to take pictures of the inside of their stomach and post them to some kind of site just for kinky weirdos like us/him. Cue a lot of hashtags he’ll be grinning about even as he blushes in the belly of the beast. Having said all that, like a lot of prey characters, I don’t necessarily IMAGINE such scenarios often, nor am I in a great hurry to write it…but if somebody paid for it, I probably could find a way to make it happen. :)

I don’t think I have done either of them yet. Which do you want to hear about first?

Ortho, Kalim, Ruggie, and possibly Cater. In the case of Ortho and Kalim, they’re the most childish and sweethearted of the cast, so I can imagine them dragging Jamil and poor Idia out into the Sun to try and find candy eggs on a grand hunt, and maybe try to find the Easter Bunny. In Cater’s case, I think he’d be more interested in the latter than the former: after all, think of all the hits he’d get on Magicam if he got a picture with the actual Easter Bunny!

And as for Ruggie…Ruggie sees it as a chance for a LOT of free food. And Lord help that Bunny if he gets found along with the eggs. Bua ha ha.

I’m not really big on Cater, but I’ll try my best.

CATER DIAMOND

Cater, I should start off by saying, I can’t really see as a pred at all. He’s a bit of a troublemaker, but he lacks the viciousness of characters like Ruggie or even Ace. Ace I can see swallowing people as a prank, but letting them out later, and Ruggie…psh, he’ll swallow you just because you’re in the room and look tasty, if he’s in the mood for it. And depending on the situation, he may or may not let you out. Cater…I can see him being a tease if he knows someone’s into that and the situation allows for it, but he’d NEVER go through with it. If he swallows you, it will be an accident, and he’ll be mortified.

However, I can DEFINITELY see Cater as a big eater. He’s not as vocal about it as some other characters, but food still means a lot to him, as it seems to mean a lot to…well…ALMOST FREAKING EVERYONE IN THE BLOODY SCHOOL. (Seriously, between this and Black Butler literally having a canon pred as its title character, does this creator just have our kinks and does not want anyone to know?) Cater is the type of big eater who likes to have fun; in a way, he’s a lot like Kalim, but not as innocent. Cater isn’t the sort who wouldn’t want to eat alone, and loves to party and have a good time, eager to take selfies and pictures of the huge feast he and his buddies will get to enjoy. We know he has a preference for salty, spicy, and sour things, so I can see him gorging on a lot of junk food or having something that goes well with tart lemonade…the latter of which, of course, will really up the acidity of his stomach, making it particularly noisy and bubbly, making a lot of really wet, “sizzly” sounds as he crams burgers and chile cheese fries into his mouth, or perhaps slurps up thick helpings of spicy ramen (his canon favorite treat).

However, while the party is the main focus, Cater would also be a tease if he knows someone is into things: burping into your ears, blowing smelly kisses into your face with a wink, giggling and trying to take snapshots of how blushy you are so he can let all and sundry on Magicam know you’re just the most adorable little feeder ever. He’s also the sort to take pictures of his own full belly, or have you take them for him…and if he lets out a rumbling, thick belch, he’ll be sure to record that for posterity too. Cater is the type who I can see being a LITTLE bashful; like, blushing and chuckling if he lets one out at an inopportune moment…but generally speaking, he doesn’t hold back and doesn’t really care. I can see him getting into belching contests with Ace, and he’d be incredibly teasing to his partner.

I can also see Cater being a feeder…but he’d be a different type of feeder. I am undecided if Cater has any of the same kinks the Prefect has in that direction, but I can see him being more of a “casual feeder.” Like, he’s the sort of guy who’ll egg others on in an eating contest. Or else, he might see someone with a very bloated belly and be like, “Whoa, dude! I totes gotta get a pic of this! Magicam’s gonna think it’s HILARIOUS! Hashtag #fatasslion!”

…Yeah, Leona’s gonna make him part of that fat ass for that one, I’m sure…
