Basic License and Extended License

Basic License

The Basic License grants you, the Purchaser a non-exclusive, non-transferrable right to make use of the work that you acquire (Work).

I see you have a model that is just what I need for my new film, print advertisement, or game. What restrictions are there on my usage?

Our goal is to allow you the most possible flexibility in using purchased models while protecting the interests of the model's creator and the model's future sales. Accordingly, when you are publishing, selling, or otherwise distributing your final product you cannot distribute the purchased model in a file format that is usable by any 3D application. The purchased model has to be incorporated into your final product in a way that the end user of it cannot access the purchased model itself. For example, you should publish your final product in a proprietary, native file format so that the users of your final product cannot access the model by itself. You must not distribute with your final product a folder (for example a .zip file) that includes the purchased models by themselves.

Can I buy a model from 3DExport under the Standard Basic License, then use it to render out imagery for use anywhere within a book, poster, t-shirt or other items for sale commercially?

Yes. The rendered image in these cases does not constitute redistribution of the product in a prohibited manner. Public display and performance rights are standard to the default license agreement between vendors and rights purchasers.

Extended License

The Extended License grants you, the Purchaser, a non-exclusive, non-transferrable right to make use of the work you acquire (Work).

How much do I pay for a 3D model if I buy it under an Extended License?

The Extended License for an item is two (2) times as expensive as the Basic License for the same item. For example, if you can obtain some 3D model under a Basic License for $20, the same model under an Extended License will cost you $40.

Important notes

If you are purchasing a bundle of items, each of them is covered by its own license. For instance, if you buy a bundle of 3D models under a Basic License, you are entitled to use them in different projects, but any model can be used in one project only.

You cannot redistribute or resell items purchased under any type of license (Basic or Extended), whether separately or included in some kind of collection of 3D model resources.

The majority of our items are covered by our Standard Licenses. If your end product including the item is going to be free to the end user then a Basic License is what you need. An Extended License is required if the end user must pay to use the end product.
