Mary Ann and Alia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our story began in December 2019. Where Mary Ann, a registered nurse since 2006, had been up researching different business ideas and opportunities, tired from working night shifts in a hospital ICU. She had been noticing that Vitamin IV drips were trending and decided to do some research. After analyzing the many benefits of Vitamins administered the IV route, she reached out to Dr. Malkin one December morning at 4 am. Shortly after, we were partnering to start a branch of Drip Hydration here in our Sunshine State of Florida. Drip Hydration Miami is owned and operated by two minority women. Over the past eight months, our power team has now been able to provide IV therapy throughout South Florida.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has been bumpy at times but we would not have it any other way. Starting a business always takes hard work and dedication. In the first few months, we both were working seven days a week around the clock seeing patients and running operations. We had long nights of reviewing nursing applications and ensuring our staff had the qualifications needed to provide safe and quality care. Just two months later, we faced the COVID-19 pandemic and were faced with a shortage of personal protective equipment and nurses. We feared the unknown. For the safety of our nurses and patients, because there was so little information on the novel virus, we were able to strategically plan and overcome these obstacles.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Drip Hydration Miami story. Tell us more about the business.
Drip Hydration is a national mobile IV therapy company, bringing the benefits of IV treatments directly to you, wherever you are. All treatments are administered by highly qualified Registered Nurses who ensure you receive the highest quality care in the comfort of your own home, hotel or office. People usually tend to think this is just your “hangover cure,” but here at Drip Hydration, we are much more than that. Our company is passionate about health and wellness. The vitamin IV formulas were developed with the goal of optimizing and maintaining health. Unlike our competitors, our main focus is concierge-style service. There is no need to book in advance. We come to the clients when and where they need us. Client safety is our first and foremost priority!
What are we most proud of? The data speaks for itself; over 50% of Drip Hydration’s bookings are repeat customers. The high percentage of customers that return further exemplifies the quality infusions and the exceptional service we provide.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We visualize expanding throughout Florida within the next five years. COVID 19 has definitely brought home a new perspective on the important role that vitamins play in our health and wellness. Unlike the oral administration of vitamins, vitamins administered intravenously provide 100% absorption. We are proud to say that we have diligently worked through this pandemic, helping clients get their vitamin dosages intravenously and helping them stay well hydrated. We are proud to continue offering these services long after COVID is gone in all cities across the Sunshine State.
