Forecast:

Tuesday: Becoming sunny and warmer. Windy at the coast. Highs: 68-72 inland, 60-66 coastal. Wind: North 5-15 mph inland, 15-25 mph coastal.

Tuesday Night: Clear and chilly. Patchy fog possible. Lows: 42-46 inland, 50-54 coastal. Wind: Light.

Wednesday: Sunny and pleasant. Highs: 76-80 inland, 68-72 coastal. Wind: South-southwest 5-15 mph.

Marine Forecast: Gale Warning until 2 PM Tuesday. Seas will be 5' to 10' and water temperatures are in the low 50s at the Crystal Coast and on the Outer Banks. The Rivers and Sounds are in the mid 50s and will rough, decreasing to choppy on Tuesday. Winds will be from the north 15-30 knots, gusts 40 knots at the Crystal Coast and on the Outer Banks. Low tide is at 12:35 PM and high tide is at 6:39 PM.

Weather Summary:

We are tracking a coastal low in the StormTrack 12 Weather Center. The low will pull away from the coast on Tuesday. A wave or disturbance will be along the southern Appalachians. Skies will become mostly sunny to sunny and temperatures climb above normal across eastern Carolina. Highs should reach the upper 60s to low 70s inland and at the beaches.

You will remain clear and cold for Tuesday night. A front will meander south through Virginia. Lows should be chilly again, with low to mid 40s inland and mid to upper 40s along the coast.

The front will remain stalled across northern Virginia on Wednesday. We should remain sunny and warmer for mid-week. Highs will climb to the upper 60s at the beaches and low to mid 70s inland.

StormTrack 12 meteorologists are tracking a low developing along the front and then sliding south into our area on Thursday. Clouds will increase across the region and temperatures remain above normal.

A front will stall across the region and a high nudges in for Friday. This will bring mostly sunny skies to close out the work week.

The weekend will be off and running with clouds increasing. This, as a warm front lifts north on Saturday. There could be a late day shower, but mainly a cloudy start to the weekend.

A front will push across the Tennessee Valley and into our area on Sunday. You will see cloudy skies, with rain and possibly thunderstorms. Temperatures remain above normal to close out the weekend.

The front will be near the coast and pulling away on Monday. There could be some lingering showers in the morning, becoming partly cloudy to mostly sunny in the afternoon.

Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s Thursday through Monday. Lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s Wednesday night and Thursday night, mid 50s to low 60s Friday night through Monday night.
