Susan “Sue” C. Lewis

November 17, 1950 - July 20, 2021

On July 20, 2021, Susan “Sue” C. Lewis passed away peacefully surrounded by her two daughters.

Her daughters would like to extend their apologies to the AMR paramedics and Clackamas firefighters who transported our mother to the hospital. Despite what she tried to tell you, she did not, in fact, have food poisoning.

Sue spent 40 years working for City Center Parking where she was well known for working hard and holding people accountable, including her eldest daughter, whom she once fired.

Sue was generous and was always taking care of everyone, even before herself. Many a Thanksgiving was spent feeding people she never met, including busloads of Job Corps kids her daughter would show up with.

Sue loved to travel, especially cruises. No matter the weather, every crew member and an unreasonable portion of the passengers had a hat personally crocheted by her by the time they disembarked.

All who loved her dearly and will never forget her dedication, generosity, and undying love and caring for them. Her daughters will remember “that’s nice, dear” was never a good sign and will use it on their sons and husbands at every opportunity. Traditions must be upheld.

Mom was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman. We will miss her every day.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Jerome Lewis.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in -law, Lisa and Ian McNee and Lori Lewis and Wayne Shepherd; two grandsons, Jerome Rex and Arbor William Shepherd; and a daughter of the heart, Elizabeth Morgan.
