closest approach
[edit]Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Transportation
Motivation
[edit]Hello! For the first time I propose a new property. This qualifier is "at a distance", I believe it is necessary, since there is no normal way to specify relative distances, such as the distance of the spacecraft flight. It is planned to use it together with qualifiers point in time (P585), of (P642). Arbnos (talk) 20:59, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

- Comment Hmm, this is similar in meaning to periapsis (P2244) but generally these are not orbiting. So maybe a new property is needed? Would it make sense to label it something like "closest approach" rather than "at distance" which seems a little too generic? ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:04, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- ArthurPSmith, yes, the pericenter is a similar entity, but this is a moving spacecraft.Probably, yes, some doubts were also in my preparation of the proposal, the proposed option is less universal, which is good.--Arbnos (talk) 02:37, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Arbnos: I edited the label and your examples to use "closest approach", is this ok with you now? ArthurPSmith (talk) 16:29, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: Yes, this is a logical more private name for the property, thank you.--Arbnos (talk) 12:40, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support Ok, supporting vote and I marked this as ready. ArthurPSmith (talk) 15:37, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
