Merge proposal

[edit]

The library/archive described by the article Cornish National Library sounds very much like the Kresen Kernow archive centre currently under construction. As this article describes an existing facility whereas the Cornish National Library describes a facility proposal, I suggest that relevant information be merged into this article. However, I would also support a merge in the opposite direction if recent sources indicate the new facility will be known as the Cornish National Library. —Shelley V. Adamsblame

Thank you Klbrain for updating the merge template. MJLTalk 16:51, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I was tempted to just merge it, but given the fact that those watching Kresen Kernow haven't had a chance to comment, I though we probably should warn them ... Klbrain (talk) 16:58, 4 September 2019 (UTC) [reply]
  • Support merging these pages into a National Library of Cornwall page. My understanding is that the building currently being constructed is called Kresen Kernow in honour of the building of that name in Redruth which formerly housed the Cornish Studies Library but that this building will house the new National Library of Cornwall. As the Cornish Studies Library building is already widely known by the name Kresen Kernow I would suggest not using it for the merged article as it could cause confusion Bodrugan (talk) 14:01, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Undoubtedly merge. The two predecessor institutions (Cornish Studies Centre and Record Office), and the proposals for a "National Library", are now all part of the history of the new Kresen Kernow. And the article title should certainly be Kresen Kernow, which will only rise in visibility and become the name that searchers will look for. Any potential "confusion" with the old Kresen Kernow can easily be clarified in the article itself. GrindtXX (talk) 17:29, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
