Heads up

[edit]

Having written this entry I have interlinked it with the Spanish-language article “Conspiración golpista de 1936”, though I am not sure is the right thing to do.

The Spanish-language entry seems to be about all sorts of different right-wing attempts developing during the lifetime of the Second Republic, be it civilian or military and be it in 1932 or 1936, which are bundled together into one process. In turn, the entry I have written is about the military conspiracy only (in WP there is e.g. a separate entry on the Carlist conspiracy of 1936), and about the conspiracy which developed in 1936 only. I think it is pretty arbitrary to dump all sorts of right-wing plots of 1931-1936 into one “conspiracy”. This perspective is controversial, to say the least. Yes, there is one historian, Ángel Viñas, who claims that "I have personally proven" that "la guerra civil fue el resultado de una conspiración monarquica, militar y fascista que veniá generándose desde al año 1932 si no antes", see e.g. this YT clip, but I am not aware of any other historian sharing this view. Perhaps the thing merits acknowledgement in the Controversies section.

However, I have concluded that eventually someone would come and link the two articles anyway, and that having “my” entry linked to the Spanish one might increase readership. So, this is to provide a heads-up and sort of explanation in case you read both Spanish-language and English-language versions and discover they are vastly different. --Hh1718 (talk) 14:15, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Strange ISBN references

[edit]

There are two ISBN references (9788487169 and 9780415290) that seem to be wrong. --Mathias Schindler (talk) 14:43, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
