[edit]Hello, I'm Macaddct1984. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Aeschylus, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. MacAddct1984 (talk | contribs) 14:20, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Aeschylus. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. DVdm (talk) 14:30, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I was reading “Iliada”, translated by Professor Frederico Lourenço, an edition by Quetzal from 2019, and, in the introduction, page 14, Frederico Lourenço claims that Aeschylus in Myrmidons enforces the view that Patroclus and Heitor’s relationship was sexual, which we do not verify in The Illiad. How would Frederico Lourenço know this unless he had read Myrmidons? Thus, I assumed that he had indeed read the last surviving manuscript of the play and either lost it or hasn’t returned it. Can you help me ensure that this edit follows Wikipedia’s guidelines? 84.90.225.184 (talk) 14:39, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Ok. I removed the entry because the citation was malformed. What are the parameters of the book? Title, author(s), publisher, publication year, page? If you provide these, I will use a proper {{cite book}} template. DVdm (talk) 14:52, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the help!

- Meanwhile I have found the book on Google Books (edition 2016) and created a proper citation template:
- Frederico Lourenço (2016). A Ilíada de Homero adaptada para jovens. Claro Enigma. p. 14. ISBN 978-85-438-0692-1.
- I added it to the article: [1]. - DVdm (talk) 15:04, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks! But just a quick correction: that is not the correct book, Frederico Lourenço published an abridged version of The Illiad for young people (which you cite) and a regular translation of The Illiad (which is the one I was referring to). Can you please make the change? 84.90.225.184 (talk) 15:13, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, sorry.
