RE:Hall of Fame articles
[edit]Thank you. Yeah I was planning on doing the Pro Wrestling HoF and Museum. I'm not sure whether to do the WON one because its more fictitious, unless there is an actual ceremony or plaque given. I never heard of the Thesz one, is there a website for it? Yeah its intimidating trying to find their major accomplishments. You can help if you want, but next weekend, I won't be able to commit myself into expanding an article this weekend. --TRUCO 19:37, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, thats great. I can make a list out of that as well. I'm not sure about the heroes one though, but I'll look into that.--TRUCO 22:49, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Re:St. Louis Hall of Fame
[edit]It looks good. The only thing, however, is that you need to be consistent with the "inducted for". Like announcer should be announcing and promoter should be promoting. In addition, it needs to be more specific, is it ring announcing or commentating? The Dick the Bruiser entry should sort with "D" because people wouldn't just call him the bruiser, its like The Great Khali, it should sort with "K". The notes should also be formatted more like the ones from my FLC's, because now that they have been there, reviewers would like to see consistency, and if we want a featured topic, they all have to be consistent in formatting.--TRUCO 19:55, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- Looks good, I fixed the sorting issue. You want me to copyedit the lead for you?--TRUCO 19:09, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thats fine with me. You want me to copy the refs into the article or were you just saying that in general? While I was doing the copyedit, I found some problems
- To be inducted into the Hall of Fame, inductees must have held a title belt or played an important role in the area between 1959 and 1983, when the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) promotion had a strong presence in St. Louis. - when it says in the area do you mean it in geographical terms or in time?
- I like the way its written because it is different from my style :); however, FL standards is to have the history of the said subject to be in the beginning paragraphs and the summary of the list itself to be the final paragraphs. So, the prose about the plaque and the mall, and other information that is not a summary of the list should go in the beginning paragraphs and the last paragraph should be the summary prose, like I did with the WCW and NWA articles.
- I would be consistent with the real names; some of them have their middle name, but others don't, so it would be best just to list them with their first and last name.
- Kayfabe memories is not reliable and will probably be mentioned at FLC
- Note 17 should be a footnote and not necessarily a reference, in addition it needs to be verified.
- I'm not sure whether Harleyrace.com has any affiliation with Harley Race, which is why I didn't use that ref for the other lists.
- Some of the notes aren't complete sentences yet they have full stops, like Born in St. Louis and began wrestling career working for Muchnick's NWA. Won NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship. can be reworded to "Born in St. Louis, began wrestling career working for Muchnick's NWA, and won the NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship" (For the titles, they need to have "the" before them)
- Thats fine with me. You want me to copy the refs into the article or were you just saying that in general? While I was doing the copyedit, I found some problems
--TRUCO 15:00, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Your welcome. It really depends, those are wrestling personalities praising the website, not necessarily other 3rd party sourced. I would have replacement refs ready just in case it cant work out with that site. As for HarleyRace, I don't think he is involved at all. I would replace his ref with other references that state the same thing. Yeah, when I work on that (after at least one of my FLCs pass) I will just copy the sources, its tiring to look for all those refs =).TRUCO 17:38, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Userbox for GA reviews
[edit]The userbox {{User Good Articles reviewed}} has been updated so that it can now link to a page in your user subspace where you keep track of all your GA reviews, if you have such a page. This can be done by adding a | and then the name of your user subpage (or subsection of your regular user page) wherever you have the template called. For example, on my user page I am using
{{User Good Articles reviewed|6|User:Rjanag/GA reviews}}
which displays as
|
There is more information on how to do this at Template:User Good Articles reviewed.
Note: If you are not interested in doing this, you don't have to do anything; the template will still work for you exactly as it does now.

Hall of Fame
[edit]I can understand that it's not easy to get information, been there and is still trying my best to do that. But since I've already been down that path with the Kangaroos and a load of other Mexican articles I do belive you're in luck. I've got excellent sources on all of them.
Kangaroos
<ref name="TagKanga">{{cite book | author=Greg Oliver and Steve Johnson | title= The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Tag Teams | publisher=ECW Press | year=2005 | chapter= Top 20: #1 The Fabulous Kangaroos | pages= 17-24 | id=ISBN 978-1-5502-2683-6}}</ref>
This really excellent book has a whole chapter dedicated to the team including their real names and confirmation of any major wrestling title the two won. I'd say that's plenty reliable :) hell it's got information on a TON! of teams. If you're interested I got a chapter overview to show which teams are covered here Project: Tag Team in case some of the other people on the list needs another boost.
Title information on the Mexicans
Well if their reigns are from before 2000 and except some of Negro Casas' reigns they are then I got the "Bible of Title history" to back me up.
<ref>{{cite book | author=Royal Duncan & Gary Will | title=Wrestling Title Histories | publisher=Archeus Communications | year= 2000 | chapter= TBD | Page = TBD| id=ISBN 0-9698161-5-4}}</ref>
All you need are the specific chapter names & pages for each wrestler. if you tell me which titles you need references for I'll get you the specific chapternames & page numbers for you, no problem.MPJ-DK (talk) 07:08, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]First of all, awesome name. :) And second, hello to a fellow GA reviewer! :) Also, yeah, feel free to do the episode citations. Send me a message on my talkpage with what exactly you have in mind (How you would write the sentence, and how you would cite the factoid,) and if it looks good (Which it no doubt will, as everyone does things better than me, :P) I'll add it. Thank you so much for your help! Have a great day! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 00:13, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Here's how the sentence is currently written. ""Take Me Home" was also the closing theme song for the World Wrestling Entertainment's television show, Saturday Night's Main Event from 1985 to 1988." Thank you once again! CarpetCrawler (talk) 00:15, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you! Did both episodes air on the same day, October 6th? I watched them when they originally aired, but I do not remember if they aired the show every few months or so... CarpetCrawler (talk) 00:36, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Greetings from MP:PWetc.
[edit]Thank you, I got tired of similar things and well I've always liked to walk my own path you know. I've also found that the research part is very interesting, I've learned so much about the history of wrestling. Btw. one of the things I'm doing is compiling sources on the "non-mainstream" parts of wrestling, I've got some really good sources on various books listed under "Book Sources", including the three "Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame" ("Tag Teams", "Heels" & "Canadians") books which are awesome - if you ever find you need some info from one of the books listed (or the magazine source library I'm slowly building) just say the word and I'll look it up for you.
