I'm thinking Somen2828 (talk · contribs) is a sock of Shikhasinghpapneja (talk · contribs), who you blocked recently, judging by the edits. Seasider53 (talk) 10:28, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure looks that way doesn't it. Technically only  Possible, based on geolocation, but behaviour is pretty obvious. Girth Summit (blether) 10:46, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you able to protect the page? The sock is getting adventurous. Seasider53 (talk) 13:13, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I saw you deleted Udne Ki Aasha under the G5 criterion. This article has been deleted a few times before for the same reason, but it is currently at AfC. I was thinking of accepting it now, but before I do, I just wanted to check if there are any issues. – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:33, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. That draft was also created by the same (presumably UPE) sockfarm. I've deleted it. Girth Summit (blether) 14:59, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info! – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:00, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sock patrol

[edit]

Thank you for your good work at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mathew Banks. Another minor sock has now emerged:

Based on past performance, further "Matty [A-Z]anks" accounts may be along to repeat the edits soon. A search by name doesn't reveal any obvious sleepers: Matt-Banks3 appears to be an unrelated good-faith editor. Certes (talk) 21:01, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked the obvious one. I'm making dinner, will do another CU sweep tomorrow, see if any loose ends need tying up. Girth Summit (blether) 21:07, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Another non-urgent obvious sock appeared: Possibly a one-off festive reference if he's American. Certes (talk) 13:02, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You've got mail

[edit]
Hello, Girth Summit. Please check your email; you've got mail!
It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template. Maliner (talk) 09:07, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Greetings, Girth,
I hope you are doing well. It seems my email, which I had sent you some days before, landed in your spam folder. Do you mind replying to it? Maliner (talk) 05:07, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Maliner, sorry I've been quite busy over the last few days. I see that you've added your name to the list of prospective clerks at the SPI Clerks noticeboard, which is the usual first step. Your application will be considered in due course, please be patient - we're all volunteers, and reviewing potential clerks' contribution history takes time. Invitation to provide feedback

[edit]

Inspired by Worm That Turned's re-RfA where he noted administrators don't get a lot of feedback or suggestions for improvement, I have decided to solicit feedback. I'm reaching out to you as you are currently one of the users I've selected as part of my recall process. I hope you will consider taking a few moments to fill out my feedback form. Clicking on the link will load the questions and create a new section on my user talk. Thanks for your consideration. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 15:58, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi BK, always good to hear from you. I'll take a look at that as soon as I can. Girth Summit (blether) 16:26, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated! Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 16:34, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Oreofrappe619

[edit]

Just wanted to continue our line of discussion here in a more private way. I've checked SPI archives and found out that Oreofrappe619 is likely Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gecko2634. So far, I've found two accounts that are likely part of same sockfarm. I'll keep you updated on this matter. Best regards, A09|(talk) 16:23, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - I'm on my phone at the moment, but I'll do some more investigation when I'm in front of a proper screen and keyboard. Girth Summit (blether) 20:46, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, Izno got them ;) Have a nice day, A09|(talk) 20:59, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know what we'd do without Izno. Girth Summit (blether) 22:10, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Seasons Greetings!
