Welcome to the 2025 WikiCup!
[edit]Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2025 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here and the judges will set up your submissions page ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page.
For the 2025 WikiCup, we've implemented several changes to the scoring system. The highest-ranking contestants will now receive tournament points at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are now open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants will no longer be eliminated at the end of each round.
The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email), Epicgenius (talk · contribs · email), Frostly (talk · contribs · email), Guerillero (talk · contribs · email) and Lee Vilenski (talk · contribs · email). Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. DYK for I Care So Much That I Don't Care at All
[edit]On 3 January 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article I Care So Much That I Don't Care at All, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Glaive recorded the first track for I Care So Much That I Don't Care at All at the age of 17? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/I Care So Much That I Don't Care at All. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, I Care So Much That I Don't Care at All), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Another FAC passed
[edit]You've accomplished this again, and congrats! SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:20, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, SNUGGUMS! It would not be possible without your support over the years. I am excited for your future work too, and to hopefully see "Harleys in Hawaii" get the bronze star someday!--NØ 07:19, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- My pleasure, and while HIH has a long way to go before that could even pass GAN, it's nice to see my efforts in building articles are also appreciated. I have no idea yet when it would go to FAC. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 22:22, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- I also wanted to drop by and say congratulations on the promotion! Aoba47 (talk) 01:45, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, Aoba! And congratulations on your own promotion.--NØ 07:19, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

Congratulations, and thank you today for an album, Title (album), "about Meghan Trainor's debut major-label studio album Title, her breakthrough into superstardom and commercial success (which unfortunately didn't last long). Defying expectations of one-hit wonderdom, the album achieved an impressive three top-10 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 and capped 2015 as one of the best-selling albums of the year. Critics were however proven right in doubting Trainor's overall commercial sustainability."! I have a composer on the same page, see story. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:53, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
"4 da Fam"
[edit]Hello again. Sorry for the random message. I was wondering if you could look at the "4 da Fam" article? I worked on that article back in 2018, and it is in rough shape. I am uncertain if it is up to GA standards or if there is even enough coverage to warrant a separate article. I might just be too hard on myself, but I thought that your insight would be helpful. Apologies for asking this of you. Feel to ignore this or to say no. I was debating on rewriting this article for a possible FAC, but I decided against doing so, which lead me to wondering about its current state. I hope you are having a great week so far! Aoba47 (talk) 01:58, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Aoba, I think you are way too hard on yourself! I do not think the article looks bad at all. Some suggestions I can come up with are to remove the Track listing section, add the word "are" to the incomplete sentence in the Credits and personnel section, and add a caption to the Release history table. That should improve it a lot already. Apologies for asking for help with a much longer article, but could you maybe leave some feedback on my "Get Him Back!" FAC?--NØ 04:25, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the kind words and for the suggestions, which I have implemented into the article. I do have a tendency to be too hard on my past work, and it is something that I am trying to improve upon. I will post a review to your FAC momentarily. Aoba47 (talk) 17:58, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
Hi, can you confirm if this is real?
[edit]I can not tell at all personally but you seem to be a huge Meghan Trainor fan judging by your articles! 😜

It does align with the Target track not being allowed in the deluxe cd just like Takin’ It Back. I wonder why they wouldn’t include it if it was an unofficial copy
Also, there’s a 2024 A Trainor Christmas digital deluxe that seems to have slipped by the radar! 167.86.132.178 (talk) 02:29, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. It appears to be real, and I would not be surprised since she sold a lot of merch on the tour. However, items need a release date to be included in the release history table and Discogs cannot be used as a source, so it is not of use for the Wikipedia article currently!--NØ 03:42, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
