- Strong Keep very prolific, influential and pioneering individual. covered very substantially here and elsewhere. Candleabracadabra (talk) 23:42, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Keep. Wow, this is a blast from the past - created the article almost six years ago. I've added a bunch of information that should prove notability, including a couple of sources directly about him. He built the world's smallest radio set as a teenager, was one of the first amateur radio operators (and the first African-American operator) in the United States, and essentially invented the transistor radio. Doesn't look like he's independently notable as an academic, but that doesn't hurt either. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 00:17, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, I've finished with my rewrite. It's at 9kb, up from 1.7kb before. Ten sources; two fully about him. I think notability should be pretty clear now. @Boleyn:, if you're satisfied with the article now and would be willing to withdraw the nomination, I think this might be a good candidate for WP:DYK, as it meets the fivefold prose length requirement. Nomination withdrawn - please close Well done, Pi, great work. Boleyn (talk) 08:50, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response. Per WP:AFDHOW, the quickest way to officially withdraw the nomination is: "To withdraw a nomination, add a note saying "Withdrawn by nominator" immediately below your nomination statement at the top of the discussion, and give a brief explanation and sign it." Cheers, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 18:20, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
