Etymology
[edit]From earlier रुध् (rudh), from Proto-Indo-European *h₁lewdʰ- (“to grow”). Change of -ध् (-dh) to -ह् (-h) probably to avoid homonymy with रुध् (rudh, “to obstruct”).
