From Old Khmer *sey (to lift, to raise; to relieve, to alleviate; to reveal, to show; etc). Cognate with Modern Khmer សើយ (saəy).

  1. to lift up something by placing another thing under that thing and pushing it up, like prying up or levering up; to lift up, push up, raise, or elevate in a similar manner.
  2. (of headhair) to push up, back, or away using a finger, fingers, a comb, etc.
  3. (slang) to hit someone in the chin.
