Etymology

- 子曰:「伯夷、叔齊不念舊惡,怨是用希。」 [Classical Chinese, trad.]
- From: The Analects of Confucius, c. 475 – 221 BCE, translated based on James Legge's version
- Zǐyuē: “Bóyí, Shūqí bù niàn jiù'è, yuàn shì yòng xī.” [Pinyin]
- The Master said, "Boyi and Shuqi did not keep the former wickednesses of men in mind, and hence the resentments directed towards them were few."
