  1. Forms the singular of the distant past imperfective tense when at least one of the arguments of the verb is not third-person.

Usage notes

This suffix can cause syllable reduction. The suffix takes the form -kakene when the preceding syllable is reducible and has an onset of k, -yakene when the preceding syllable ends in i, and -akene in other contexts.
