[edit]Noun
[edit]fomentress (plural fomentresses)
- (archaic) A female fomenter.
- 1838, G. D. Krummacher, Israel's Wanderings, page 319:
- The Midianitish princess, the chief fomentress of the whole offence, shared in his fate. Twenty-four thousand were slain on the whole; but the rest of the congregation lay before the door of the tabernacle, weeping and humbling themselves before God, although they had not sinned in like manner, whilst those who had acted so, impiously defied them and mocked at them.
