Victorian Market Brings Festive Cheer to Wrexham Town Centre
Thousands flocked to Wrexham Town Centre yesterday to enjoy the festive buzz of this year’s Victorian Christmas Market.
Held across the grounds of St Giles and Church Street, the Victorian Christmas Market has become a popular calendar event for the town centre – drawing large crowds to the event each year.
Crowds gathered early for the event, which featured over 70 stalls selling everything from homemade jams and chutneys, mulled wine, specially crafted gifts, confectionary and some very tasty German hotdogs. There were even a couple of Victorian chaps lurking around posing for occasional picture!
Along with stalls outside, the Victorian Market continued indoors to St Giles – where a number of gifts stalls were on offer, including a huge variety of handcrafted gifts and jewellery.
In keeping with the Victorian theme there was Victorian music demonstrations in the church throughout the day. One of the most popular attractions of the day was the chance to visit the top of St Giles Tower and take in the sites across Wrexham
As usual the event went on into the early evening – with large crowds popping to the market after work for a spot of food and late night shopping.
As the event continued on into the evening, the festive spirit grew with Christmas lights lit across the Churchyard and town centre.
