The Samsung Galaxy S4 is an Android smartphone featuring a 5-inch Super AMOLED screen. The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. Running on a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor, the Galaxy S4 has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16, 32, or 64 GB of internal storage, which is expandable with a microSD card. The phone has a 2600 mAh battery and supports wireless charging. Released in 2013, the Samsung S4 was the fourth model in the Galaxy S series and the first to incorporate health-focused features.
The Samsung S4 has a plastic body with a removable back cover. Its design is slim and lightweight. The phone has a physical home button flanked by capacitive buttons for multitasking and going back, a power button on the right side, and volume buttons on the left. The Galaxy S4 phone has an infrared blaster for remote control and a micro-USB port for charging and data transfer. The phone is available in two versions: one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor and one with Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa 5410 octa-core processor.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 phone has a dual camera mode that uses both the front and rear cameras simultaneously. Other features include the ability to take photos with voice commands, an adaptive display that adjusts brightness based on lighting conditions, and Air Gesture, which enables users to interact with the phone without touching it. The Galaxy S4 phone also has optical character recognition for text translation and a Smart Pause feature that pauses videos when the user looks away from the screen. The phone has a built-in pedometer and temperature and humidity sensors for the S Health app.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 phone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, upgradable to 5.0.1 Lollipop. The phone features Samsung's TouchWiz user interface, which includes a number of proprietary apps like S Voice for voice recognition and S Planner for scheduling. The Galaxy S4 phone has a Multi Window feature that allows the user to display two apps side by side, as well as an Easy Mode for simplified use. For security, the phone has a built-in fingerprint scanner and supports Samsung Knox, a platform for securing personal and professional data.
